A baby nursery is one of the most exciting things to plan while you’re pregnant. Except if you only know you want it to be darling but aren’t sure where to start. That indeed can become overwhelming. That’s why I’m here to help you plan the darling nursery of your dreams that is totally Pinterest worthy. Here are my go-to tips to be successful.
Less is more.
I’m sure you’ve heard this time and time before. It actually comes into play when you plan your nursery. Remember that the nursery is a tiny little babe. The tiny little babe is just being born into the world. They can get easily overstimulated. The baby is essentially going to be sleeping in the nursery. It’s very important to make the room zen + comforting. Think of the places that are most relaxing for you. They don’t actually have a ton of items in them, do they? That’s because less is more. The key is picking items that serve a purpose to making it zen or that make you happy.
Make a board.
You must make a Pinterest board. These are the easiest way to begin brainstorming. Make a board and then search on Pinterest for nurseries that catch your eye. It’s very easy to get caught up in wanting every nursery you see on there. I always make an initial board, then go back through it and weed out which ones I really like. When pinning items, always type what it is you like in the nursery so you will remember.
Okay, here’s the thing. The more the nursery has sentimental value to you the more you will love it. Think of aspects of your life, family, and the babe. What is important to you? What are your favorite things? These questions will help you find a theme. It can even be a color. A theme doesn’t have to be a certain sport or place. It can be whatever you make it be.
Can’t paint? No problem.
Something that has definitely become more popular this year is decals. You can use them to actually make patterns on the wall. These are perfect for parents who can’t paint the room in which the nursery is going to be. Even if you can, it actually is less work to use the decals. It also adds an extra zing to the details of the room!
When the time is right.
I know you think everything needs to be done right now way before the baby is born. However, sit on it. Your mind might change before the baby arrives. There’s nothing worse than realizing you hate the nursery. Enjoy the time planning the nursery and take your time. It’s a lovely way to nest during your pregnancy.
Cheers to enjoying + making a darling nursery of your very own.
