When the snow began to fall on January 19th in Canada, dad and ice sculptor Kelly Davies decided to give his Harry Potter loving daughters a special treat: Hogwarts made entirely out of ice. For the second year in a row, Davies is decking out his front lawn with a fantastical scene that is straight out of the pages of our favorite magical franchise.

Davies started using his talents last year to turn his lawn into a winter wonderland when he carved a giant slide with sea creatures to wow his family and friends. While he took a page from his own book and added another amazing icy slide (with lighting underneath), we have to admit that his rendition of Hogwarts is shaping up to be movie-worthy.

The ice sculptor is making his own blocks of ice by freezing snow in huge boxes overnight, then carving them himself. He still has a ways to go to finish, but at the time of publication Davies has carved a slide, bench, the start of the Great Hall with its pillars complete with torches.

We think it’s safe to say this dad has upped the snow playing game! Anyone else need to brush up on their snowman building skills?

Would your kids be outside playing all day in this icy Hogwarts? Let us know in the comments!
