Old Town might not sound like the hip, cool place to bring a wild and curious bunch of kids. But, it’s just that…and more! From kid-friendly farmer’s markets to consignment shops galore, there are so many hot spots in this Alexandria, Virginia enclave that you’ll need to make multiple trips just to soak it all in. Here’s where to get started.

Now this is fast food. Insiders report that within six minutes of planting worn out tushies, kids have their buttered noodles and are happily slurping them down. Grownups can try an abundance of micro beers from local distributors (Port City, DC Brau, Devil’s Backbone) and chow down on some of the best ribs in town. Extra good noodle slurpers can even get a slice of Giant Elvis—a pie filled with peanut butter, banana and chocolate.
