Seriously, how many flower or fire truck patterned onesies does one baby need? If you’re looking for romp-around wear with a little more personality, check this… We’ve rounded up our favorite onesies for the little ones who want to showcase some D.C. pride. Just snap and go.
#1 The Presidential Seal
This onesie, embroidered with the presidential seal, is 100% made in the U.S.A. and is available from the official White House Gift Shop. Here’s some D.C. trivia for you. Did you know the White House Gift Shop was established by Presidential Order? It is the only original and president authorized White House gift shop in American history, established by President Truman’s 1946 Order. (In case you want to drop some knowledge at the baby shower.)
$28, available at whitehousegiftshop.com
#2 The 9:30 Club
You can help even the littlest ones appreciate good live music by outfitting them in this 9:30 Club onesie. Long before the U Street Corridor was dotted with trendy restaurants and expensive condos, the 9:30 Club was there, anchoring the space. This beloved venue has hosted musicians ranging from the Beastie Boys and Adele, to Bob Dylan (playing a suprise show before officially scheduled dates at two bigger D.C. arenas).
$15, available at merch.930.com
#3 The D.C. Flag
Here’s a pop quiz for you. What do the stars and stripes on the D.C. flag represent? Answer: The banner design is based on the coat of arms of George Washington’s family. D.C. had been flagless, and then in 1938 Congress established a commission to pick the flag design. Graphic designer Charles Dunn won the competition and that’s how D.C. ended up with its three stars above two red bars.
$25.50, available at Dawn Price Baby (Locations in Capitol Hill, Georgetown, Reston, Va and Fairfax, Va)
#4 Baked and Wired
