One week all your kid wants to do is paint ceramic plates and mugs; then they’re vowing to be the next American Idol. Next thing you know they’re dreaming hoops. Luckily, D.C. offers something for everyone and their hop-skipping interests. This weekend alone there’s dragon boat races for the sports enthusiasts, an outdoor film fest for pint-size screenwriters, and finger-painting free play for petite Picassos.
