Choco-holics won’t want to leave this annual chocolate festival at the end of the day. In addition to tons of samples up for grabs, cocoa-loving kids will find historic re-enactments (that involve chocolate…of course),  a craft show, and an art exhibit featuring work made completely out of chocolate. Sat.-Sun. Fairfax. Music to Your Ears: OrchKids Perform
Sixty-five talented kiddos from OrchKids (a community education program in Baltimore), spanning pre-kindergarten through ninth grade, will perform with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra for a special concert that will feature a mix of classical, jazz, pop and spiritual-inspired pieces. The ensemble will be accompanied by Chi-chi Nwanoku, Principal Double Bass and a founding member of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Endymion Ensemble, on the orchestral version of Rihanna’s “Stay.” Fri., 6 pm-7 pm. Foggy Bottom. Brrrrr! Polar Bear Dip for a Great Cause
The 8th Annual Virginia Polar Bear Dip features a slew of grown-ups shedding layers and taking a dip into Reston’s Lake Anne. But these “polar bears” aren’t hopping into the frigid waters just because—it’s all for a good cause. Dippers are raising money for Camp Sunshine, a summer camp designed for kids with life-threatening illnesses and their families. Want to take the plunge yourself (sure to elicit several high fives from your kiddos)? Be our guest.
