This weekend there’s something fun going on for everyone in your brood. Like, everyone! From a family friendly wine festival for the vino fan and a dance party for your two stepper to a Spongebob-themed bash for cartoon lovers and a dog toy craft class for artsy canine owners–it’s an all inclusive weekend that won’t soon be forgotten.

Manor Park

Dog Toy Making Class
Get crafty and learn to make new toys for your favorite dog friends. This is a hands on class good for all ages. Kids and adults will have the opportunity to make 2 types of dog toys and take them home at the end of the class. Extra toys will be given to the pups at the Washington Humane Society as well as a donation from ticket sales. Sat., 10:30 am-12 pm. $20. Ages 3 and up. Event details.


Vine On the Waterfront
Formally known as the Alexandria Food & Wine Festival, the festival will take place at Old Town’s waterfront at Oronoco Bay Park and will expand to include both restaurants within Alexandria and other eateries throughout the region. The festival is a community-based event featuring tastes of local foods and wine, as well as artisans, a Children’s Corner, and live entertainment. Sat., 12 am-6 pm. The Washington Ballet and Imagination Stage: The Little Mermaid
Your Little Mermaid will be talking about this production for months! The Hans Christian Andersen classic is realized in this enduring tale of the power of love. This ballet will warm hearts of all ages. Sat.-Sun., 1:30 pm-3:30 pm. $30. All ages. Event details.


Dance Party With Josh and the Jamtones
“Rocksteady” with Josh and the Jamtones in this interactive, ultra-powered dance party. Featuring stadium rock choruses and acapella sing-a-longs, this band is guaranteed to get any crowd moving their bodies and laughing out loud regardless of age, height, or shoe size! Fri.-Sat., 10:30 am-12 pm. $10. Union Station

National Postal Museum’s Spongebob Family Day
Come join in the adventures of the world’s most lovable sponge and his friends at the Smithsonian’s National Postal Museum. See the museum transformed into Bikini Bottom and participate in nautical-themed activities, such as games, sand castle building and much more, including a chance to meet SpongeBob SquarePants! Sat., 10 am-5 pm. Summer Music Series, Plus Art and Exercise
Looking for some laid back family fun? Stop by The Shops at Wisconsin Place for their #SummerMusicSeries. Start the morning off with Pilates on the Plaza, join new friends for a mid-day dance session, and get creative with a paint session with Art Jamz. Sat., 9 am-1 pm.
