Recess Monkey Jam Session at Wolf Trap Theater-in-the-Woods
You don’t have to be a 3-year-old to enjoy Recess Monkey. Dubbed as one of the country’s top kindie bands, Recess Monkey has found a way to capture the fun of being young through music. This high-energy trio of elementary school teachers invites you to join their adventures and rock out to fan-favorite jams from their newest album, Hot Air. Fri.-Sat. $10. Ages 2-10. Event details.

World Police and Fire Games Opening Ceremony
Grab your wanna-be police officers and firemen and bring them to the Opening Ceremony for the 2015 World Police and Fire Games. The welcome celebration features a parade of athletes, lighting of the torch, Athletes Oath, and a post-ceremony musical concert. Fri., 6 pm-11 pm. Free. All ages. Event details.


Yummy! The Ice Cream Race
The Ice Cream Race is an all-ages event that will make you feel like a contestant on Nickelodeon. Why just run when you can race through an obstacle course with climbing walls, a chocolate syrup water slide, and a cherry juice pit. The cherry on top? At Play Around the World kids are exposed to other cultures around the world. Ah Love Kids Who Cook Junior Chef Competition
Make your little chef a star in a fun competition to win prizes and meet celebrity judges and local media. Each little chef has a teammate and a mentor and will prepare a simple yet delicious dish to be judged. Four rounds of competition, 24 little chefs in all.
