Pedal the Tidal Basin
Been meaning to get a photo of your kiddo in front of his or her favorite memorial building, but just can’t bring yourself to join the sea of tourists? Hop on one of the pedal boats that ride through the Tidal Basin for a unique (crowd-free) view of the Washington and Jefferson Memorials. Get Moving at Park Potomac 
Park Potomac is offering a FREE children’s music and movement class this spring on its lush, expansive lawn. My Gym Potomac will be on-site to facilitate an hour-long music and movement class for children. The ideal age is 3-6 but all kids are welcome and will be socially distant. Snuggle Up With These Animals
The National Zoo may still be closed, but these petting zoos and farms are open and ready for you to play with your favorite furry and feathered friends. From snuggling up to a baby goat to riding a pony to hand-feeding exotic animals, have a fur-filled weekend at one of these hands-on petting zoo encounters. Activity details. 

Explore a National Park
Just 15 miles from downtown DC, Great Falls offers spectacular views of waterfalls without much effort. Take a short 10 minute walk from the parking lot to look out points. Want to spend the day? There are over 800 acres of wilderness to explore. Activity details. 

Splash The Day Away 
In just a few weeks, pools will (fingers crossed) open for the season. But why wait for Memorial Day weekend to get your splash on? Grab your water shoes or your rain boots, and stomp around in these creeks and splash in these rivers for a pre-season dip. Activity details.  

Get Crafty
Mother’s Day is right around the corner and if your child is still logging on DL, chances are you’re not getting a school-made gift this year. Get out the glue sticks, construction paper and scissors and spend an afternoon making. Activity details.
