Celebrate Pride Month
The month of June is Pride Month and we have a number of ways to get out and support the LGBTQ+ community here. Get crafty with the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Family Pride Zone or join a virtual dance party with the DC Public library. Don’t forget to catch the first ever Pridemobile parade on Saturday! Explore The Great Inka Road
If you’ve ever crossed a suspension bridge, you’ve used Andean Indigenous technology. Open through June 27, “The Great Inka Road: Engineering an Empire” explores the foundations of the Inka Road in earlier Andean cultures, technologies that made building the road possible, the cosmology and political organization of the Inka world, and the legacy of the Inka Empire during the colonial period and in the present day. Get Zen at REACH
Bend, stretch and reach for zen at REACH. Each session begins at 10:00 a.m. and lasts 45 minutes. Please arrive no later than 9:45 a.m. to ensure your spot in the class. Rock Out at a Family Concert
Joyous and heartfelt Americana music for the whole family, Josh Lovelace, a member of the Grammy-nominated rock band NEEDTOBREATHE, brings his tunes to McLean Central Park. Lovelace took his first step into the family music scene with Young Folk in 2017 after a lifelong appreciation of children’s music. Big Blue Swim School will celebrate the opening of its new swim school in Chantilly with a free Family Fun Day! Get a first look at the state-of-the-art pool, while enjoying live entertainment, kids’ activities, giveaways and treats.
