Your busy bee could become the next dance/acrobatic/aerial sensation, what with all of that spinning, twirling, and flipping they do. It might be time he tried some organized movement. These drop-in classes don’t require making a long term commitment (good thing if her interests shift as fast as her feet move), but they do get the job done when your mover and shaker needs a fun place to channel all that energy. Screen Shot 2014-01-08 at 11.44.44 AM

Break Dancing at The Lab
The Lab hosts a drop-in tryout for new students twice a month, where future pop-n-lockers are introduced to basic moves (hello, robot!) and a little bit of break dancing history. This tryout is the only drop-in class offered by The Lab, but if kiddo digs spinning on her head and stylizing her knee slides, you can sign her up for a weekly class with one of the schools instructors—Tazk, LazyRockz, Gunjak, or Charlie (their names were too awesome to not mention).

Ages: 2.5 and up
When: classes are daily; drop-in tryout is twice a month at 10 am
Drop-in cost: $15

Parkour at Urban Evolution
You freak when Junior falls off the jungle gym; he gets up and starts laughing. Parkour, the art of moving through your environment in an interesting and graceful way (i.e. spinning off a wall to go in the opposite direction), might be his bag. Urban Evolution offers parkour classes for first graders to old timers. For the littlest leapers, NanoPK provides a “structured playtime” approach to parkour training by incorporating conditioning into games and creative physical activities. This set up teaches the fundamentals of parkour moves and techniques, including jumping and landing, rolling, vaulting, climbing, and falling safely.

Ages: 6-8
When: Daily
Drop-in cost: $20
