The break-up of a marriage is never easy and that is especially true when kids are involved. Which is why it’s always inspiring to see parents take the job of co-parenting to new levels. One girl’s necklace made from her divorced mom’s wedding ring was a shining example of how to handle parenting after a marriage ends.

Twitter user Devin Petit recently shared a picture of the beautiful necklace her mom had gifted her for her birthday. The caption explained that the silver bar with three diamonds embedded in it was made from the diamonds of her mom’s wedding band. “She said although her marriage to my dad didn’t work out, they both agreed I was the best thing to come from it, which is why she wanted me to have it,” Petit’s Tweet read.

The post garnered plenty of love with users commenting on what a thoughtful present the necklace was and just how awesome Petit’s parents are at the whole co-parenting thing. “Exactly how parents should behave after a divorce. I wear my mum and dads engagement ring every day, it’s my most prized possession and reminds me of my happy childhood,” one Twitter user commented.

Several other commenters come forward with stories about similar gifts from their own divorced parents, while others were inspired to use the idea for their own kids.
