Editorial policy

Just so you know, our newsletters and stories are about stores, products, people, events, restaurants, classes and activities that the editors think are neat-o. This content is not paid for.

All of our content is local to the markets we cover – Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Seattle, San Francisco, Portland, Chicago, Washington D.C., Los Angeles and SoCal- so if you have a story idea, please make sure it is relevant to those markets (i.e. local distribution). Got an idea that’s not local to one of our local markets? We also have a Food edition, National edition and Bump + Baby edition. When pitching our editor please specify which edition you’re emailing about. We’d love to hear from you!

We love to hear about new products and ideas! Please send us your info. or press release to editor@redtri.com. If we see there’s a good editorial fit, we’ll get in touch.

When you see advertising in the newsletter or on the site, it will be clearly labeled “sponsor,” “sponsored content” or “dedicated email.” Advertisers do not have any extra say in what we cover editorially. Though we love our advertisers, we want our dear readers to trust that we’re sending them unbiased tidbits of news.

Favorites* is a highly-selective advertising program that offers ongoing promotion of local businesses that we love and use ourselves. The sponsored content is labeled as such in our newsletter and on the site.

While we do use SkimLinks to generate affiliate revenue from outbound links off of our site, the editorial team does not select products based on affiliate revenue potential. In fact, we don’t think the editors even know what a SkimLink is.
