It’s been a big year for celebrity babies. There have been what seems like heaps of new faces in the Kardashian/Jenner tribe, and superstar dudes Dwayne Johnson and James Van Der Beek became daddies again, too. On Tuesday, Eva Longoria gave birth to her first child at age 43 and her little one’s adorable name is full of special meaning.
Longoria and hubby Jóse Bastón’s welcomed their son, Santiago Enrique Bastón, on Tuesday, Jun. 19, according to HOLA! magazine. The magazine first broke the news on Instagram, sharing the very first pic of Longoria and her brand-new baby boy in a sweet, snuggly photo. So, what’s in a name?

Even though the new parents haven’t made an official statement on why they chose their baby’s name, it’s a pretty safe bet that he was named after Longoria’s father, as they share the middle name Enrique. But alas, we’ll just have to guess (for now) why the couple chose Santiago as the baby’s first name. As the patron saint of Spain and the capital city of Chile, it’s entirely possible the name has a special significance to the couple.
The actress, and new mama, shared her birth announcement with an HOLA! exclusive. Longoria and Bastón told the magazine, “We are so grateful for this beautiful blessing.” Little Santiago is the fourth child for Bastón and Longoria’s first biological child—she’s already mom to three stepchildren with Bastón.
Congrats to the new mom!
