Artful Stories I Know the River Loves Me
Sat., 10-19-2019
10-11:30 a.m.
Michael C. Carlos Museum
571 South Kilgo Cir NE, Atlanta, GA 30322

In the Art of the Americas Galleries, sitting beneath a pair of jade earspools in the shape of waterlilies, children will hear Maya Christina Gonzalez’s story of a young girl who loves rivers, illustrated in the same blue and green colors of water and jade.  Children will move to the studio to create rubbings on paper to reveal hidden shapes below, just as flowing water has exposed jadeite boulders for centuries in the Guatemala’s Motagua River Valley.

For preschoolers and kindergarteners with an accompanying adult. For more information, contact Alyson Vuley at 404-727-0519 or avuley@emory.edu.

This program is free, but registration is required online.
