Open to the public November 1, Chicago Children's Museum invites guests to explore their newest permanent exhibit perched above Navy Pier's Fifth Third Bank Pavilion. The concept behind the 30-ton, 37-foot-tall steel dreamscape is to celebrate adventure and risk-taking, qualities that are inherent to childhood. From every vantage point and with every ascent, Cloud Buster helps provide children the opportunity to develop the grit and determination necessary to lifelong success. Cloud Buster was designed to be a challenging climb, empowering children to face the challenge and encouraging them to push their boundaries. The end result: self-esteem, confidence, and a physical workout. Constructed of structural steel, wood, wire, rope, acrylic, fiberglass, and artificial turf, and features various climbing routes, tubes, and bridges — visitors can climb in, on, and through the winding, unexpected spaces.
