Star Party: Lunar Viewing
Sat., 7-20-2019
9 p.m
1945 SE Water Ave, Portland, OR 97214
Event added by Annette B.

In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11, the mission that landed the first humans on the Moon, the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, Rose City Astronomers, and Vancouver Sidewalk Astronomers have organized free Star Parties at Rooster Rock State Park and Stub Stewart State Park starting at 9:00 pm. From beginners to experts of all ages, here's your opportunity to view the moon and other celestial objects up close and personal through telescopes. Viewing highlights include Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, the waning gibbous moon, several star clusters, and more! The angle of the sun will cause deep shadows to fall on the moon's surface, making its highlands and craters more easily visible.

Event details are subject to change. Please contact the event host to verify these details are accurate.
