Produce Pick: Tomatoes

Amanda is the manager of Williams-Sonoma's test kitchen, the founder of the free website One Family One Meal (a finalist in Red Tricycle's 2013 Totally Awesome Awards), and author of the cookbook Cooking Light Real Family Food. We recently spoke to her about her family's seasonal produce pick. She tells us, "Although my kids always run directly to the stone fruit this time of year, we're also in love with all of the varieties of tomatoes we can find right now. For the easiest weeknight meal ever, I make my Pasta with Raw Sauce. While the pasta cooks, I chop up a ton of tomatoes, olive oil, a little garlic, basil, and fresh raw corn kernels if I have them. Then I toss the cooked pasta with the raw sauce and it heats the sauce just enough to melt in your mouth. It's the end of summer on a plate."
