Google is no longer a proper noun. It’s a verb. And we all “google” all the time. But now Target is giving you a new reason to google. So what’s the big news? Read on to see how Target and Google are teaming up to make shopping a snap. Seriously.
Imagine a world where you could curl up in your fave comfy chair, talk into the air and…boom, you’re done shopping. Whoa. Okay, we don’t know what’s more of a fantasy — that you could actually lay down during the day or that you could get your shopping done just by talking. Well, one of the two is about to become a reality.
You can use Google Express through the app, Google Home or Android TV to shop select retailers. And one of them happens to be Target. Google Home lets you sit back and use your voice to request pretty much whatever you want (of course, within reason). Ask Google Home to play your favorite song, and it happens. Ask it to give you local movie times, and it happens. Now you can ask it to buy your shopping list at Target (just say the items you need), and it happens! Yep, you pay and your order is shipped to your door.
Starting next year, you’ll even be able to link up your Target REDcard and get 5% back on your purchases when you pay. Yay! Also starting next year, you’ll have the option to have your order shipped to you or pick it up at your local Target store (in only two hours).
