DigiPen Academy is dedicated to your family’s learning needs, whether in person or online. For the 2020-2021 school year, we expect to teach all online, but will adapt should the situation allow.
Small class sizes and live instruction by our fantastic teachers ensure your student’s engagement, and our commitment to differentiated learning helps your student meet their goals. At DigiPen our teachers are trained to meet each student where they are at. We assess the students on the first day of class and plan individual goals for each student.
Families may choose as many courses as needed to meet their student’s learning goals. We offer core general education courses in math, reading, writing, and science, as well as a rotating variety of elective courses including debate, theater, video game programming, art and animation, game design, engineering, and music and sound. Core academics are taught in 80-minute periods, twice per week plus one lab day. Elective courses are taught using extended 2.5-hour blocks; this provides teachers adequate time to present the course concepts and allow students to work on exercises and projects.
