A leader in early childhood education, Concord Hill School (CHS) offers children age 3 through grade 3 a distinctive education. CHS knows that the early years are the most important and specializes in understanding what a child needs during this critical time. The faculty is focused on meeting the individual academic and social-emotional needs of students through hands-on, experiential learning that emphasizes play. The School boasts a rich program that includes the arts, leadership, Spanish, STEM, and more. Faculty approach teaching through an anti-bias lens and the School’s DEI Committee supports such efforts through a variety of initiatives. During these first eight years, your child will develop as a person and as a student. We follow students throughout their CHS career so that by the time they enter third grade, we are able to launch them academically by pairing them with a school that matches their needs and personality.

CHS combines a strong academic program with a small and caring community. We inspire a love of learning and nurture relationships and memories that will last a lifetime.

Rochambeau, The French International School offers a bicultural and bilingual education to internationally-minded students starting from age 2 through 12th grade. Our academic program is based on the French National Curriculum, a comprehensive world recognized educational program, with a strong English component. From the day children start their schooling in Maternelle, French is more than a subject: it is the language used to tell a story, play outside, explore nature, sing songs, or talk over lunch. Very quickly new students grasp the nuances of moving between languages, and they also become appreciative of the multitude of languages spoken on campus and in the world. Rochambeau students not only acquire a linguistic advantage, the learning environment is such that they truly do become bicultural.
Rochambeau optimizes students’ potential by giving them as many opportunities as possible for their future. Having a broad base of knowledge, the ability to analyze and think critically, and an understanding of the world from different perspectives, Rochambeau graduates are bicultural and bilingual, often multilingual. With both a US High School diploma and a French Baccalauréat, they choose to continue their education in the US, Canada, the U.K., France or anywhere in the world.

For parents, back-to-school season is more than just shopping for school supplies and new clothes. It’s about setting your child up for success in the upcoming school year. Many things can impact your child’s academic performance—from the foods they eat to the friends that they make. Did you also know the air they breathe can affect their success in school? Poor air quality may cause health problems like fatigue, headaches, allergic reactions, and other types of irritation that can detract from your kiddo’s ability to focus on learning.

The good news is that improving the quality of the air that your child breathes is not as out of reach as you may think. Molekule air purifiers don’t just collect indoor air pollutants, they destroy them. In fact, Molekule’s Air Mini and Air Mini+ purifiers are even FDA-cleared for medical use to destroy viruses and bacteria. While you can’t control the indoor air quality in your kids’ schools,Molekule air purifiers can help improve the air they breathe at home while they make their way to the head of the class.

Sandy Spring Friends School (SSFS), founded in 1961, is a progressive, coed, college preparatory Quaker school serving students from Preschool (age 3) through 12th Grade, with optional 5- and 7-day boarding programs in the Upper School.  Situated on 144 acres in the historic Sandy Spring area of Montgomery County, MD, SSFS provides a safe, supportive environment—in a vibrant, diverse, and inclusive community—for young people to discover their passions and become actively engaged in their education.

Small class sizes and a low teacher-to-student ratio give students the opportunity to experience a rigorous,  hands-on curriculum. Our teachers have the opportunity to build relationships with students, challenge them, and provide a space for all voices to be heard, creating an environment where teachers lead and learn alongside their students. Our school’s culture—rooted in the idea that collaboration engenders achievement—can be traced to our Quaker heritage and abiding belief in the Quaker values of simplicity, equality, honesty, stewardship of the environment, and peaceful resolution of conflict.  By fostering independence while cultivating self-confidence, cultural identity, and a sense of belonging, our students become responsible, successful citizens of the world.
