This fall the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music (BKCM) offers a trove of LIVE, engaging, creative and inspiring classes, ensembles, lectures: from the baby-bopping Sing & Play class, to the hands-on Intro to DJ class, to enthralling Instrument Adventures classes, to Composition Club and much more.

Private lessons at BKCM are an extraordinary experience and are available for every major instrument including voice. Drawing from a diverse faculty of world-class musicians and educators, we match each student to a teacher whose approach and experience best fits their learning style.

Plus, private lesson students can take advantage of free or reduced admission classes and ensembles. More than just a phenomenal value, these complementary programs are integral to our holistic and comprehensive approach, and are designed to promote musical excellence.

Founded in 1897, BKCM brings high-quality music education and therapy to thousands of students and clients city-wide through its Community Music School (CMS), Suzuki Program, Music Therapy and Music Partners program.

Farm 2 Fork Tours

A unique, relaxing and truly natural experience awaits everyone in Oregon. Farm 2 Fork Tours is pleased to welcome everyone to its unique culinary food tours across dairy farms, fisheries near the coastline, and the array of artisan food producers of Oregon.

Visitors will have the opportunity to go around learning about sustainable farming, local artisans and their lives, and the amazing flavors of fresh produce. Each of our tours is meant to engage the senses to provide you with the most comprehensive and unique travel experience available in the Pacific Northwest.

As part of the coastal exploration tour, visitors will visit the heart of Tillamook County to explore the world of coastal seafood. They will experience behind-the-scenes moments at oyster and crab farms, figure out how to shuck an oyster or the proper way to eat a crab, and witness how fishermen bring seafood to the Pacific Northwest. The true taste of Oregon awaits every visitor at Farm2Fork when they undertake a customized tour of the Tillamook coast or the Willamette valley. They can select which farm to visit, including urban produce farms, tea and hops farms and sample the freshest of cheese, oysters, olive oils and wines.

Fall Pumpkin Harvest Festival

Enjoy everything fall as we celebrate the last harvest of the season… pumpkins!

Daily, guests can take a wagon ride out to pick the perfect pumpkin, cheer on the pigs in the pig races (Tuesday-Friday at 12:30pm), get lost in our corn maze, and play all day in our five acre play area, with attractions like TWO jumping pillows, swings, slides, mazes, Farm Ninja Warrior Course, Putt Putt, barnyard animals, and more!

Weekend festival admission includes all daily activities PLUS: watch some pumpkin munchin’ at our P-Rex show, visit with the pumpkin princess, shoot mini pumpkins and apples out of our pumpkin cannons, roast marshmallows, and listen to live music!

Apple cider donuts are made fresh daily, and don’t forget to stop by Bluemont Vineyard and Dirt Farm Brewing across the street for beer or wine, and Henway Hard Cider located on our property! Family Fun at Richardson’s Farm

Located just an hour’s drive northwest of Chicago, Richardson Adventure Farm has become an annual destination for family fun, with a new 28-acre maze every year, plus more than 30 activities, including wagon rides, pig races, a vintage carousel and a “park train” that runs on real tracks. Most of the activities are included in the admission fee with a few (such as the zip line and “Orb” rides) cost extra. Private picnic sites with campfires and firewood are available by reservation, and there’s free parking.

This year Richardson’s added a heated tent near the pig races and train depot, serving wine, beer and hot chocolate with schnapps, plus live music on most weekend afternoons.

Admission in September: $17 for ages 13 and up, and $14 for ages 4-12;
October/November weekend prices are $19 for ages 13 and up and $16 for ages 3-12.
Free for ages two and under.

The Norton Simon Museum’s creativity-fueled Fall Family Festival returns—taking families on a journey around the world and through time with pop-up art-making workshops in the galleries and garden. Join a time-travel workshop with educators from the creative writing organization 826LA, create your own time travel luggage and journal, design your own time machine, write postcards from the 18th century, create 17th-century inspired hats and explore 19th-century Paris. Listen to the sounds of ancient Indian instruments, and enjoy story time in 20th-century Europe—there’s so much to explore and experience at the Family Festival.

Fall Family Festival is free for children 18 and younger. Adults pay general admission.

The La Jolla Open Aire Farmer’s Market, located on the campus of La Jolla Elementary School, is a vibrant community event and gathering place each Sunday from 9-1, hosting more than 140 vendors each week. From farm fresh produce and an international gourmet food court, to talented local artisans, our market has something for everyone! Bring the family and enjoy breakfast or lunch on the lawn or in our covered seating arbor while listening to live music. Your kids will love running on the grass, playing on our two playgrounds, and being treated to face painting and balloon animals. We also offer a complementary dog sitting service, right outside of our market gates, courtesy of Dog Zenergy.

On October 20, as we celebrate our 21st anniversary, we will be hosting our annual Harvest Festival, a free family event from 10-1, featuring games, music, prizes and more!

The La Jolla Open Aire market is different than other farmers markets in that all proceeds benefit La Jolla Elementary, a public school. The proceeds fund various initiatives including school improvements and programs such as art, music, library, technology and additional teachers to lower class sizes.
