Virtual Family Workshops

Join the Smithsonian Early Enrichment Center as we bring the wonders of the Smithsonian collection to your living room! We’ve brought our family workshops to the virtual platform, but kept the essence of our programs the same: focusing on forming relationships, connecting with Smithsonian objects, and learning through play.

Cuddle up in the comfort of your home this winter while taking an exciting virtual trip to the Smithsonian. Experienced museum and early learning educators will engage young children in artwork and objects that will lead to deep understandings on a range of topics.

The Basics:

  • For ages 3 to 8.
  • Classes meet virtually on the weekends for 45 minutes.
  • Small class size – limited to eight families to allow for meaningful experiences and connections.
  • A video with an activity or challenge will be sent in between each weekend session.
  • Additional resources provided:
    • Information for caregivers regarding the benefits of the content and activities.
    • Additional activities
    • Related literature, videos, websites, etc., to further explore the topic

Children will be laughing, playing, and exploring as they learn about all the Smithsonian has to offer!
