If you want to know just how hard being six can really be, check out this awesome Humans of New York Instagram. A recent post on this photo story-centric IG feed featured a candid look at the lives of two six-year-olds and what they do all day. Spoiler alert: It isn’t all play!

So what, or who, exactly is Humans of New York? This photoblog turned book tells the story of everyday people, as its IG bio reads, “New York City, one story at a time.” And that’s exactly what you’ll find on this amazing Insta.

These sweet little six-year-olds pictured in a November post tell their very own special story. “Being six is so hard,” the IG caption begins. “I have to go to school, and do math, and do a lot of words, and spell things, and take tests every Friday, and exercise, and play games that I don’t want to play.” Hmm. Kind of sounds like paradise to us.

The post continues, “And mom says we’re going to have another baby soon, so it’s going to be crazy. We wanted a girl but we got a boy. I don’t even know what I’m going to do. I already have one brother who hits too much and goes everywhere without permission.”

We love how kids totally tell it like it is. Ah, such is the life of a six-year-old!
