Can you believe that a kid destroyed $1,300 of Sephora makeup? We know, shocking. Umm, not. At least, not if you have kids. You’ve seen the aftermath when your little one gets a hold of your own makeup bag. It’s like a lipstick-covered finger painting extravaganza. But, in public? When makeup artist Brittney Nelson shared a pic of a Make Up Forever display at Sephora, everyone seemed to have an opinion.

In Nelson’s Facebook post she notes, “I’m sure he/she thought they were like finger paints and had no idea how naughty they were being.” Totally true. Have you seen those rainbow-esque palettes? They’re super-inviting. To a child, they’re pretty much the same as the set of watercolors that they use at preschool.

Nelson’s post goes on to plead, “Mammas, please shop for your makeup without your tiny humans. It’s not fun for you…or them…or the expensive product.”

The FB post garnered a mix of responses. Some agreed with Nelson. But others rebuked the makeup artist’s sleuthing skills. One person posted, “Next time you post something destroyed…don’t immediately say the culprit was a child without knowing for certain that it was.” Considering that no one saw the act of destruction, Nelson’s theory is only speculation. It really could have been anyone, and not necessarily a kid who destroyed $1,300 of Sephora makeup.
