Justin Timberlake is back, ladies and gents—and like every popular franchise, he looks like he’s getting a gritty reboot of his own. Just two days in 2018, Timberlake posted to Twitter with some very exciting news: Justin Timberlake has a new album coming in February, with a new song dropping this Friday. 2018 is already off to a great start.

“This album is really inspired by my son, my wife, my family,” Timberlake says in a voiceover of the teaser video for the album, titled Man of the Woods. He adds, “But more so than any other album I’ve written—where I’m from. It’s personal.” Before his pop-and-lock stardom as one of NSYNC’s frontmen, and even before his days on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club, Timberlake was born and raised a country boy in Memphis, Tennessee.

Here’s what we know so far about Man of the Woods: it will be Timberlake’s first studio album in nearly five years and drops on Feb. 2. Even with the sick horns on “Suit & Tie” and the racy video for “Tunnel Vision,” fans have been eager for his follow-up to 2013’s The 20/20 Experience. If Timberlake’s album announcement video is any indication, his experience as a first-time father to son Silas Randall, born in April 2015, might account for his relative musical silence outside of his poppy, snap-your-fingers-worthy hit, “Can’t Stop the Feelin’.” (Oh, and that instrumental lullaby album of Justin Timberlake hits…)

Check out the teaser video for Timberlake’s forthcoming album, Man of the Woods, below.

Not going to lie: this new album looks intense. (I’m also not entirely sure if it’s an announcement for his latest album, or an ad for some emerging rustic-inspired one-word-named hipster clothing line.) Even so, there are a few seconds in the video showing fellow musician Pharell Williams—so you know this album is going to be hit-worthy.

What do you think about a new Justin Timberlake album after all these years? And how do you feel about this “return to his roots” video? Share your thoughts in the comments!
