When the mega toy-retailer announced they were closing their doors, we all kind of cried. We also ran as fast as we could to use those last few gift cards that were all but lost in the bottoms of our diaper bags, totes and purses. But just in case you didn’t get there in time, you can now exchange Toys”R”Us gift cards at Kmart!

Yep, you read that right—Kmart is giving you the chance to trade in your new or expired Toys”R”Us gift cards. Okay, so there is a catch. You can’t exchange your Toys”R”Us gift card for its face value. But if you haven’t used it yet, it’s worth $0. So anything is better than nothing.

Here’s how the exchange program works: You sign up to become a Shop Your Way member (if you aren’t already one). Then you bring in your gift card and Kmart gives you a link to a survey. Simply fill it out and you score $10 FREECASH in points. This also works for Babies”R”Us gift cards too. Use the points for any Kmart purchase that totals $10 or more.

You can only receive $10 in FREECASH, regardless of how many Toys”R”Us gift cards you turn in. But if you’re looking for ways to get even more savings, you’ll get $5 in FREECASH points on the 15th of each month that you can use towards toy purchases as well as 50 percent CASHBACK (in points) on diapers, training pants and wipes through June 2. The Toys”R”Us gift card exchange program will run through July 31.

What will you use your FREECASH points for? Share your picks with us in the comments below.
