With so much to do here, and traffic being, well, LA traffic, it’s easy to miss a few “gottas.” So, check our bucket list of the 10 things all kids growing up in Los Angeles should experience, and see what you can cross off — and where you should be heading this weekend.

Explore Downtown

Yes, we do have a downtown! And there’s a wonderful mix of old and new that makes downtown especially exciting right now. There’s always been plenty of fascinating history, but now with refurbishments, renovations and new places opening every day, it’s become a true city center. With the world famous Gehry designed Disney Concert Hall, Grand Central Market (which was just named one of the 10 Best New Restaurants in America by Bon Appetit), the historic Olvera Street, Union Station, City Hall, Angels Flight (currently closed for renovations – keep your eye on it to see when it re-opens!) and more, every Angeleno should make a pilgrimage downtown.
