Similar to the Chicago and New York locations, this over the top unique store has two floors full of American Girl dolls and paraphernalia – clothes and accessories for the dolls, matching clothes for the real girls, and books about the dolls. There is also a photo booth where you and your little sweeties can snap a photo for a faux magazine cover. Need some grooming? Don’t forget to stop by the hair salon (pony tails and updo’s $20) or the doll hospital for a check up too!

Stop for a little lunch at the cafe, where the whole crew can dine using doll-size high chairs that attach to the tables. The menu is more than you might expect which not only includes the regular favorite of pizza but more sophisticated choices like chicken, steak and some pretty spectacular desserts. Lunch and dinner seating’s are available seven days a week. Lighter fair and tea’s are also available as well as brunch on the weekends. Have a birthday to celebrate? American Girl offers party packages that include a 2-course meal, a cake, and goody bags.

Be sure to check the calendar for monthly special events, such as Play Alongs, designed for the three to five year old crowd. Reservations are required.

  • Don’t setup for disappointment so be sure to make reservations for the cafe. The place is very popular and often walk up seating is not available. To explore American Girl Place without a a bite to eat can easily take an hour or two, as there are lots of historical displays as well as the mind-blowing array of doll accessories.
  • Although it’s an easy walk from the parking garage (be sure to get an in-store validation for reduced parking rates), take The Grove Trolley for a more memorable arrival.
