When you sit down to your Thanksgiving meal and give thanks for all your blessings, give a moment to appreciate this amazing and diverse city we live in.  It’s the perfect place to raise kids!  We polled our writers to find out what they’re most grateful for about being parents in LA, then add in your two cents.  Then get out there and enjoy the sunshine, arts, culture, ocean and food that we all love.

Acceptance and Respect

Like many of our writers, I love the diversity in our city, but what I prize is how much this diversity is accepted and prized. Kids of all colors, ethnicities, interests and abilities play and go to school together without judgement. Wear what you want, do what you want, say what you want, grow up to be what you want and respect each other: that's a child rearing philosophy we can all get behind. Perhaps the diversity and acceptance comes part and parcel with the film industry, which brings artists from all over the world to live and work here. Perhaps it's just the sunshine that makes you want to smile and accept each other. Whatever it is, I'm grateful to be raising my kids here.
