Pumpkin Patch Bound Train Rides and More

Griffith Park Ghost Train
It's back! After taking some time off, this 20 minutes good old fashioned Halloween train ride has returned. Hop aboard the Griffith Park Ghost Train and wind your way through creepy displays and spooky settings. Just note that young ghost seekers must be 34 inches to ride. (This is not the Haunted Hayride, which is definitely for the big kids. However, if your tot is afraid of ghosts and skeletons, this might not be their thrill of choice.) Event details.

The Many Rides of Fillmore and Western Railway
For everyone, you can't do better than a ride on the one and only Pumpkinliner Express. Grab a seat on board and enjoy the beautiful scenery as it takes you to Icabog, a private pumpkin patch, where you can pick the perfect pumpkin. For those who want more of a scare, you can take a dinner train to a Haunter Hayride. And new this year is the Zombie Hunter Train, for those 8 & up who want to take on the un-dead with a paintball gun. The Pumpkinliner runs weekends all month, check for specific dates for the other adventures. Event details.

Irvine Park Railroad
Irvine Park Railroad's pumpkin patch is one that the Great Pumpkin would surely approve of. Choose from hundred of pumpkins in all shapes and sizes in a quaint farm setting. Want to take a ride? Choose from train, tractor or hay rides or take all three. But that's just the beginning. Don't forget the Halloween bounce house, Halloween cookies to decorate, face painting, panning for gold, a haunted house, carnival games, a hay maze and more. This one if perfect for even first time Halloween riders! The train pulls out of the station daily until Halloween. Event details.

The Great Pumpkin Patch Express
Speaking of the Great Pumpkin: trains depart the Orange Empire Railway for an adventure to the Most Sincere Pumpkin Patch where passengers are greeted by Charlie Brown, Lucy, and Snoopy. Family-friendly activities at the Pumpkin Patch include kid’s concert, pumpkin decorating, hayrides, bounce house, face painting, vintage trolley rides and more. And every kiddo picks their very own pumpkin to take home. This train runs weekends in October. Event details.
