Bring on the peanuts and Cracker Jack; baseball season is in full swing and for small sluggers it’s the most wonderful time of the year (sorry, Santa!). If your little leaguer can’t go to every game (who can?) or even see them on TV (grrrrr), we’ve struck upon loads of ways to get into the spirit of LA baseball. From Friday night fireworks to baseball inspired treats there is plenty in our great city to keep everyone entertained past the 7th inning stretch.

Picnic in Elysian Park

While the game may be happening in the Stadium, Elysian Park buzzes with energy on home game days. Local fans don their Dodger gear and picnic in the park. To join in the fun, just pack a picnic, the bats and gloves and park the family near on of the park’s playgrounds; there is one near Elysian Park and Scott Avenues, another just across from the Grace Simons Lodge on Riverside Drive and another on Academy Rd right just across from the stadium entrance. And if everyone is in the mood for a hike, head up to Angel’s Point and catch a great view of the stadium, a perfect close to a baseball season afternoon.
