Los Angeles

African American Paper Quilts
Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery (LAMAG), located at Barnsdall Park (4800 Hollywood Blvd.), will present African American Paper Quilts, an afternoon workshop with painter and public artist June Edmonds, who is now a COLA 2018 Fellowship recipient. Celebrated for her public art throughout Los Angeles from mosaics to sculptural work, Edmonds will guide participants through her improvisational process of creating an abstract mosaic-style collaged paper quilt. Using vibrant and pearlescent watercolors with other media, attendees will create their own artwork by exploring a variety of brushstrokes, motifs, mark making and patterns inspired by African American quilts. Sat. Event details.
