See the Wildflowers
Each spring, the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve comes alive with the seasonal surprises of the Mojave Desert Grassland habitat. The duration and intensity of colors and scents vary from year to year. The wildflower season generally lasts from as early as mid-February through May, with a variety of wildflowers creating a mosaic of color that changes daily. The City of Mission Viejo is running a drop-off food drive campaign to benefit various local non-profits. Priority items include oatmeal, pasta, hearty soups, cereal, dried beans, macaroni & cheese, peanut butter and jelly, and canned items like chicken, fruit, pasta and chili. Spring at Descanso Gardens
Descanso Gardens celebrates all nature has to offer in the late winter and early spring. Colorful flowers are a sure sign of spring, but not the only one. The birds of Descanso mark spring by making their homes in the garden. As you explore Descanso, look for special areas from the Promenade to the Oak Woodland marked with the Signs of Spring logo.
