Los Angeles:

Frog Spot Opens For Summer
Located along the breathtaking Elysian Valley bike path, the Frog Spot is Friends of the Los Angeles River’s summer gateway to the LA River. The Frog Spot serves as a community gathering space, launch pad for River tours and trips, and an exciting performance venue. The space is officially open for the summer season May 27 and it’s going to be un-frogettable! Beyond the Streets
The premier exhibition of graffiti, street art and beyond, “Beyond The Streets” celebrates the soaring heights to which the world’s most recognizable modern art movement has risen. A groundbreaking multimedia showcase of paintings, sculpture, photography, installations and more throughout 40,000+ sq ft of industrial indoor and outdoor space. REDCAT International Children’s Film Festival 2018
Three action-packed weekends of short films highlighting the most innovative and magical animation techniques, as well as mesmerizing live-action films from around the world. Audiences of all ages will be inspired by these exhilarating works from more than two dozen countries — including Argentina, Switzerland, Japan, Mexico, France, Belgium, Croatia, The Netherlands, and more! Annenberg Pool Open For Summer
With spectacular views, splash pad, children’s play area, gallery, historic pool, and Marion Davies Guest House there’s something for everyone to enjoy at the Beach House, and now it’s open daily for the summer! Passes go on sale daily at 9 a.m. (or in advance, online). The pool is 4′ to 8′ deep, heated to 80 – 85 degrees and chlorinated. Towels and locks are not provided – please bring your own. Due to the depth of this pool, kids under 8 years old and 4′ tall must be accompanied by an adult in the water at all times. Children under 12 years must be accompanied and supervised by an adult in the pool area. Children requiring use of a diaper must wear a swim diaper in the pool. Sat.-Sun. Event details.

A Country Fair in the Mountains: Topanga Days
Celebrating 45 years, Topanga Days remains a quintessential Southern California experience. Part music festival and part hometown fair, this three-day family-friendly event includes: musical acts on two stages, contests, games, a Fun Zone, local artisans and vendors, food and the unconventional and totally amusing Memorial Day parade. 100% of the proceeds benefit the Topanga Community Center (TCC), a 501c3 and one of the last remaining community houses managed by volunteers in California. Thousand Oaks:

Kids Zone at Janss Marketplace
Bring the kids for entertainment and arts and crafts at Janss Marketplace’s monthly Kids Fun Zone! The BeatBuds will be performing their original and interactive music, and there will be a Father’s Day-themed craft for the children to do as well. It’s an afternoon the whole family can enjoy! Worth the Drive:

Bring on the Haggis! It’s Scottish Fest!
Come to the festival of Scottish entertainment and food. There will be Highland drumming, piping and drumming, and loads of bands, harps and fiddlers. Splash to Seaside Lagoon
The Seaside Lagoon is open for the summer starting this weekend, and daily through Labor Day weekend. The large saltwater lagoon, offers trained lifeguard supervision. Besides swimming, the Lagoon offers a large sand area for sunbathing, children’s play equipment, snack bar facilities provided by Ruby’s Restaurant, and volleyball courts. There is also a grassed area and luau shelter for day and evening events. Sat.-Sun. Event details.

Road Trip to the Great Western Bicycle Rally
The Great Western Bicycle Rally is a 4-day cycling festival featuring 25 different ride options: fully supported rides, group rides, and self-guided rides. There are fun activities for families including a supported family ride, kids bike ‘roadeo’, bike decorating, stunt show, trike time trial and more. Other features of the event include a cycling village (expo), free wine tasting and beer tasting, beer tent and BBQ, time trial, track stand competition, s’mores station, wood-fired pizza truck, free pasta dinner, on-site cafe, Saturday night speaker and social activities all weekend.
