It’s finally starting to feel like fall in LA—as in, mid-70s temps and plenty of sunshine. (Brrr, right?) Get out and enjoy that semi-crisp autumn air with a petting zoo and pumpkin patch at the Original Farmers Market, a train celebration at Griffith Park’s Travel Town and a creepy critters meet-and-greet at the LA County Arboretum. Read on for the details on these events and more of our favorite activities happening this weekend in LA.

In addition to exploring all of Travel Town’s historic engines and train cars, little ones can hear live music, see demos by woodcarvers and blacksmiths and checkout fire trucks, police cars and more. Sun. Event details.

Beverly Grove

Bel Air

Skirball Harvest Festival
Bring in the fall harvest season and celebrate the Jewish holiday of Sukkot at this daylong festival, featuring live music and craft stations. Octubrefest at Smorgasburg LA
In need of lunch plans on Sunday? Enjoy a different kind of Octoberfest with Smorgasburg’s Octubrefest, where you can sample a selection of Mexican-inspired craft beer, and the whole fam can dig in to Mexican food specials, plus get down as live DJs spin latin, funk, 90s hip hop and more. Sun. Event details.

ArtNight Pasadena
Bring a whole lot of culture and fun into your kids’ weekend with this free event where Pasadena’s top museums and creative spaces open their doors to the public. Stop by Kidspace for a felting workshop, visit the Pasadena Museum of History for the carousel-inspired exhibit and a whole lot more. Food trucks will be at various venues just in case you work up an appetite. Fri. Event details.

Come in costume for a night of scary-good fun and pre-Halloween trick-or-treating. Start at Arroyo Adventure to meet your “Ghost Host” and search for candy and other treats.
