Los Angeles is known the world over for its abundant, practically eternal sunshine. But come Christmas time, local kids may feel like they’re missing out on the chance to go walking in a snow-filled winter wonderland. That’s about to change with Sparkle 90210!

What: Sparkle 90210 quite literally makes the streets of Beverly Hills glisten with snow and Swarovski Elements inspired decor. Beverly Canon Gardens and Two Rodeo Drive will be transformed into winter wonderlands when snow falls throughout the night at each locale. The Beverly Hills Madrigals, the award-winning choir of Beverly Hills High School, will also lend their beautiful voices to sing carols, and animated street performers from ‘Sparkle Street Theatre’ outfitted in shimmering costumes will engage and entertain while passing out sparkling adornments for all to wear. Parents may enjoy after hours shopping at over 65 stores in Beverly Hills, while kids will be delighted to take a horse-drawn carriage ride (2 passenger maximum capacity) that affords them a festive, up close and personal view of the city’s sparkling displays. Note: Horse drawn carriage rides are free for those who can show proof of a same day purchase of at least $25 spent shopping or dining anywhere in Beverly Hills.

When: Six evenings, Thursdays & Fridays in December: 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th & 16th, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. Sparkle 90210 kicks off Thursday, December 1 at 5:00 pm with snow and lighting effects featured at Beverly Canon Gardens and Two Rodeo Drive. As cascading snow falls throughout the evening, shoppers will be greeted by the celestial sounds of the Beverly Hills Madrigals, the award-winning Beverly Hills High School choir, caroling holiday classics.

Where: Throughout the Golden Triangle (anchored by Wilshire Blvd., Crescent Drive, Little Santa Monica and Bedford Drive) and along South Beverly Drive

Parking: The most convenient place to park is at the Beverly Canon Gardens parking structure located at 241 N. Cañon Drive and 242 N. Beverly Drive. Parking after 6:00 pm is $5, or you get 2 hours free parking before 6:00 pm.

Top tips: If your wee one is small enough to cozy up in a baby carrier without breaking your back, cruise the event sans stroller so you won’t have to navigate it through crowds. If you and your crew need a pit stop, grab a cup of hot cocoa from nearby Bouchon Bakery or Il Fornaio. Or treat yourself to an ultimate sweet treat or cup of piping hot chocolate at Madame Chocolat, which will be open extended hours during Sparkle 90210 festivities.

Bonus: If your kiddos develop a penchant for faux snow after witnessing this marvelous event, spread out the good cheer by taking them to The Grove in West Hollywood, where snowflakes float from above every night at 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm, from November 14th – December 31st.
