Moms are mysterious creatures who even with all their commitments to careers, their communities and outside passions, manage to shape little beings into pretty cool folks. While we think all moms are amazing, we’ve chosen a very special group of our fave LA power moms who are not only holding down the fort at home, but are also creating, inventing, inspiring, innovating and pursuing their dreams in a wide variety of fields. Joanna McFarland, Carolyn Yashari Becher & Janelle McGlothlin, Co-Founders of HopSkipDrive

Three enterprising LA moms —Joanna McFarland, Carolyn Yashari Becher and Janelle McGlothlin—have potentially solved one of the biggest problems facing busy parents today. Their ingenious company, HopSkipDrive, is a ride service for families that helps get kids where they need to go safely and dependably when their parents can’t take them. With eight kids under the age of 15 between them, the ladies knew they were onto a great idea when they were faced with shuttling their own children around to seemingly endless activities like tennis, horseback riding, soccer and karate, all while trying to maintain hectic work schedules. Today, they are extremely proud of the company they’ve worked so hard to create with McFarland saying, “Every amazing story we hear about how we made life better for a customer, how we helped a child win a role by getting them to an audition, how we helped a mom keep her job, how we eased the stress on a single parent, all of these stories make me so proud of what we’ve built and what we do every day.”
