Ice Cream is having a moment! While cupcakeries are close at an astonishing clip, Los Angeles is discovering cool treats at an unprecedented rate. It’s about time – our weather calls out for icy goodness year round. Here are our favorite brand new places to get something spectacularly cold in these dog days of summer. A couple are so new they’re still putting on the finishing touches to open ASAP, so get ready to be the first to try them.
More Relatively New And Completely Amazing Spots
While a couple of these have been around for a few years, they’re consistently churning out new and amazing flavors, so we’d be remiss not to mention them. Plus, they’ve all got something that’s specially kid approved.
Ice Cream Lab – Ice cream made to order with a burst of liquid nitrogen? Little scientists (and foodies) dig it.
Peddler’s Creamery – This ice cream is churned with the wheels of a bike, and kids can practice in the shop.
Sweet Rose – With three locations to date, this is LA’s fastest growing home-grown farm-to-cone ice cream store. Kids can’t resist the homemade marshmallows on top of their cups.
Carmela – Right by The Grove, this farmers market fave counts Cucumber Sorbet as a cool way to get kids eating green.
Coolhaus – The Coolhaus truck is everywhere in the summer, so you won’t have to go to the Culver storefront to score these customizable cold sammies with the edible wrapper, or new treats like the hand-dipped ice cream bars.
