As the sizzle of summer has cooled into fall and the quickly approaching holidays start making their way into our hearts (and schedules), nothing quite hits the festive spot more than a slice of mouthwatering pie. You and your pint-sized pastry lovers can relax with your plate pie-led high or pick up a holiday sweet when you don’t have time to bake. Check out our picks for the most delicious Los Angeles pie shops that truly understand how to put the “comfort” in “comfort food.”

The Trails Cafe

This off-the-beaten-path gem isn’t a pie shop, per se, but the few pastry offerings it does serve by the slice are out of this world. Nestled at the base of Griffith Park’s many trails, this outdoor eatery is a perfect place to fuel up on pie (or anything else from their delicious menu) before or after a hike. With a rural/Western feel complete with barrels, wheels, string lights and outside seating only, your little dough boys and girls can really get their wiggles out while you wait (the lines can get pretty long).

Easy As Pie: Flavors rotate depending on the season and, while there are usually only 2 or 3 pies to choose from, most agree that they are some of the yummiest around. For November it’s homemade Pumpkin and Apple which are just perfect for falling into a festive mood. Whole pies are also available for purchase as well if ordered 48 hours in advance so make sure to save space at the holiday table.
