1. Creating Arts

If your little theater lover believes all the world’s a stage, then host a birthday party that lets them get in on the act. Creating Arts is a musical theater company tailored just for kids. With shows that fit every age, from toddling tots to teens, they offer something for every audience with theatrical performances based on classic stories, like Beauty and the Beast, Pippi Longstocking, and Alice In Wonderland among others. Your guests will enjoy the show and then get some one-on-one time with the cast afterward with cake and eats. The Company performs at various theaters both on the westside and in the valley, but you can also book a custom private show at your own location.

Details: Creating Arts Co. has several party packages to choose from. With an After Show Party, you can host during a scheduled performance and then have a private half hour with the cast, with snacks after, or you can go all out and hire the cast for a private full show. 2. Kids Dance Society

Do your birthday babes love to cut a rug? Then invite their guests to join them on the dance floor for one of the grooviest indoor birthday parties in town. Kids Dance Society debuted earlier this year with its unique new take on family-friendly parties. Instead of wiggling to Kids Bop tunes, tiny dancers and their parents have been tearing up the dance floor to the beat of real-world DJs, like the kind you might find in a grown-up club. Glow sticks, disco balls, kid-friendly snacks, and a full bar for the parents is all part of the fun.

Details: Kids Dance Society currently hosts monthly events at the West End Nightclub in Santa Monica where you can book a VIP Party Package during the event. With three different packages to choose from you can host anywhere from 15 to 20 guests in a special roped-off private section, in addition to partying on the dance floor. Food and drinks are provided depending on the package you choose. You can also book a private dance party at your own location. Contact for pricing and details.

3. El Capitan Theater

There is no shortage of awesome movie theaters in LA! But if you’re throwing a birthday bash for mini movie mavens, then look no further than the El Capitan where nearly every feature attraction is a kid-friendly Disney flick. One of the last remaining classic movie houses in the city, El Capitan was built in 1926, which means that beyond the film, just taking in the majesty of the theater, and its functioning organ, is a real treat in itself. For more ideas, check out our full guide for the best places to host a movie party in LA here.

Details: The theater offers two different party packages, both of which accommodate up to 20 guests. The Red Carpet features VIP concessions with in-seat service and a post-movie party in a shared room with games and crafts. The Movie Premiere Package takes it up a notch with a private party room and celebrity treatment in the form of photo-ops on the red carpet as guests arrive.

4. Pump It Up

If your pint-sized partygoers are more of a get-up and run around type crowd, then they’ll love bouncing off the walls at Pump It Up. A bounce house can be a fun way to burn off energy, but two gigantic rooms full of inflatable activities takes the party to a whole new level. From slides and obstacle courses to climbing walls and an arena that looks like it belongs in American Gladiators, there are so many different ways to play you probably won’t see them the whole time because they’ll be so busy jumping around.

Details: Party packages start at $429 on weekdays and $575 during weekends and include food and drinks for kids. You can add on extra food, goodie bags, balloons, glow-in-the-dark accessories, and character visits for additional costs.

5. Sender City

Rock wall climbing is all the rage, but if you really want to wow your posse of climbers, schedule your party at the most unique spot in town. Sender City is the kid corner of the massive Sender One Climbing Gym. That doesn’t mean it’s a small space, however. With 22 different climbing challenges, there are no plain rock walls in the bunch. Instead, kids can scale things like giant spiderwebs, “skyscraper” beams, and dark vertical tunnels. There’s even a mini bouldering wall for the youngest climbers in your party.

Details: Party packages start at $549 for up to 15 climbers with a fee per child for additional guests. All parties are 2.5 hours, include an hour of climbing time and one hour in a private party space.
