Some past presidents have written books. Others have done speeches and speaking engagements. But the Obamas’ Netflix deal is a POTUS (and FLOTUS!) first. According to Netflix, President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama recently signed on for a multi-year commitment to produce films and series for the popular streaming service.

So what’s in store for the Obama’s foray into the Netflix production world? The couple will produce a mix of different types of content. This includes everything from scripted series and features to unscripted docu-series and documentaries.

While there’s no set lineup yet, the series and features will all fall under the Obamas’ new production entity, Higher Ground Productions, and will be available for viewing in 190 countries.

Of the new partnership, Obama said in a statement, “One of the simple joys of our time in public service was getting to meet so many fascinating people from all walks of life.” He added, “That’s why Michelle and I are so excited to partner with Netflix—we hope to cultivate and curate the talented, inspiring creative voices who are able to promote greater empathy and understanding between peoples, and help them to share their stores with the entire world.”

Well, we’re impressed! And we certainly can’t wait to see each and every production the Obamas have to offer!
