It’s been quite the journey from 2015 for Mal and King Ben, but the time has finally come for a royal wedding! The Descendants: The Royal Wedding is airing this Friday!
The summer special is a new take on the fan fave movie series––an animated show that has everyone heading back to Auradon with nearly the entire cast voicing the OG characters.
You’ll hear Dove Cameron as Mal, Sofia Carson as Evie, Booboo Stewart as Jay, Mitchell Hope as Ben, Sarah Jeffery as Audrey, Melanie Paxson as Fairy Godmother, China Anne McClain as Uma, Jedidiah Goodacre as Chad, Anna Cathcart as Dizzy, Dan Payne as Beast, Bobby Moynihan as Dude the Dog and Cheyenne Jackson as Hades.
Notably missing is the late Cameron Boyce who voiced Carlos. His absence will be acknowledged in the story and he will be honored in the telecast.
The Descendants: Royal Wedding will air on Fri. Aug. 13 immediately following the premiere of Disney Channel’s new film, SPIN, around 9:40 p.m.
123 Sesame Street is getting a new resident! Sesame Street will be home to Elmo’s new adopted puppy, Tango. And today Sesame Street confirmed that Tango will be a live-action Muppet!
In today’s new 30-minute special airing on HBO Max, Furry Friends Forever: Elmo Gets a Puppy, Sesame Street watchers will learn how this petite pup found her new home amongst the Muppets. The first preview photo from the show is cuteness personified.
In the special, Elmo, Grover and Tango meet and head out on an adventure to find her a forever home. The trio will also be joined by Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby and Oscar the Grouch and will show how Tango got her name.
The sweet puppy is sticking around for future episodes and will serve as a model for kids and how to help with family pets. Littles will see how to properly play and care for a pet, in addition to showing all the love they bring to a family.
Furry Friends Forever: Elmo Gets a Puppy airs Thursday, August 5 on HBO Max as part of the 52nd season, and will stream on PBS KIDS in 2022.

Monday Mar. 8 is International Women’s Day and there is plenty to celebrate. In honor of the big day, Mattel has announced the newest doll to join the Inspiring Women series and it’s none other than First Lady of the United States, UN Spokesperson and human rights activist, Eleanor Roosevelt.
The Barbie Inspiring Women Series is all about showcasing historical and present-day role models who’ve made it possible for girls of today to reach their dreams. Roosevelt was known as the “First Lady of the World” for her efforts and dedication surrounding humanitarian efforts and was a champion on the topics of civil and economic rights.
The Eleanor Roosevelt doll joins those launched over the past year: Dr. Maya Angelou, Billie Jean King, Ella Fitzgerald, Florence Nightingale, Susan B. Anthony, Amelia Earhart, Katherine Johnson, Frida Kahlo, Rosa Parks and Sally Ride. The Inspiring Women doll can now be purchased at retailers ($29.99) nationwide beginning today, Mar. 3.
As if that wasn’t exciting enough, Mattel has also launched the “You Can Be Anything Virtual Series” which connects fans of Barbie with role models. The series starts Sat. Mar. 6 at 10:00 a.m. PST and will stream on Barbie’s Facebook and YouTube channels.
The series will consist of inspiring, interactive, and educational 15-30 minute live streams with female leaders and influencers such as Yara Shahidi and Adwoa Aboah, with new content airing weekly on Saturdays. The themes include:
Michelle Obama has been busy! The former First Lady has written a best-selling book that’s now being adapted into a children’s book, and she’s not done yet.
Obama announced today that she is launching a new kids show, Waffles + Mochi. Airing on Mar. 16 on Neflix, the show is all about discovering, cooking and eating good food!
Waffles and Mochi will take kids on adventures all over the world, exploring new recipes and ingredients. The Netflix show is an avenue that extends Obama’s dedication to supporting children’s health.
The former First Lady is also continuing her relationship with Partnership for a Healthy America by getting fresh ingredients to families in need so they can cook together at home.

We all knew it was only a matter of time before everyone’s favorite little British piggy made her U.S. debut, and it’s finally happening! Peppa and her family are hopping the pond for the first time to star in Super Potato’s movie, Vegetables in Space. Here’s what we know so far.
To help kick off the newest season of Peppa Pig, a four-part special will air on Mar. 5th, 8:00 am EST on Nickelodeon. Follow Peppa and her family as they begin their adventures after winning a trip to Hollywood. The first stop is New York City, where they'll visit the Empire State Building and see the bright lights of Times Square. Then, the whole family will head south, where they’ll meet a new Miss Rabbit and have yummy food at a diner.
Of course, any cross-country trip wouldn’t be complete without a stop at the Grand Canyon; Peppa will even get to take a helicopter ride! Finally, the family will arrive in Hollywood, where they’ll get lost, get directions, meet another new Miss Rabbit and have to deal with some naughty carrots. Will the movie be a success? Children’s musician Laurie Berkner has been busy. Not only is she getting ready to drop her 14th album, but she’s also gearing up for a special Valentine’s Day concert!
Airing on Feb. 14, Berkner will host two Valentine’s Day Live Virtual Family Concerts at 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST on her website. Not only that, a family ticket will grant you admission to one or both livestreams!

It feels like eons since we’ve seen Chip and JoJo grace the silver screen, but with the launch of new streaming platform Discovery+, they’re officially back! Debuting on Jan. 4, the platform is now streaming several of the upcoming shows from Magnolia Network, that will debut later this year, and has all the Gaines goodies you could ask for.
The “Magnolia Network Preview” is currently showing advanced episodes of Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines and the new Fixer Upper: Welcome Home. The rebooted DIY fan fave is set to debut on Fri., Jan. 29, with a new episode airing each Friday through Feb. 19.
In a blog post by Chip, he writes “This past year, we have poured our hearts into content and programming for Magnolia Network. Searching for stories we believe the world needs to hear. Stories that bring us together, that let us see things in a whole new light. Stories that connect us to our roots, and to one another. Can you believe it? Sesame Street is about to launch its 51st season!
Tune in on Thur., Nov. 12 on HBO Max where the famed show is making its debut on the streaming platform. HBO Max will be airing 35 new episodes every Thursday and will head to PBS Kids in Fall 2021.
