Recall Alert: Hallmark Recalls Teethers Due to Choking Hazard

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall for Hallmark teethers. The Teether Rings come with decorative fabric, plush attachments and a wooden ring that can break into small pieces and pose a choking hazard.

Approximately 15,500 teethers were sold in the United States from Jun. 2015 through Jun. 2021 for $10 to $25. The products were purchased from Hallmark Gold Crown stores, supermarkets, pharmacies, boutique gift shops and at hallmark.com.

This recall applies to 11 different styles of round teethers, each sold with a gray woven brand label with the Hallmark brand crown and a hangtag. They were described as either “Plush and Wood Teether and Rattle” or “Wood and Detachable Cloth Teether for Little Droolers.”

Recalled teethers will have date codes of JUL15, 1117, 0618, 0719, or 1020. Parents can check specific SKU codes on the CPSC website here.

Recall Alert: Fisher-Price Gliders Have Caused Infant Deaths

Heads up parents and parents-to-be: Fisher-Price is recalling two popular infant swings, the 4-in-1 Rock ‘n Glide Soothers and 2-in-1 Soothe ‘n Play Gliders. This is due to four deaths in the 4-in-1 product and approximately 175,000 of the two products combined are under recall in the U.S.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall, affecting model numbers CHP56, CHP55 and CBT81 in the 4-in-1 and GDD28, GDD39, GDD41, GGW85, GNX43, GVG43, HBD26 and HBD27 in the 2-in-1. Both products have a powered glider seat and an infant rocker feature, which move head-to-toe or side-to-side. You can find the model number on the underside of the base.

The tragic accidents occurred when the infants were reportedly placed on their backs unrestrained and were later found on their stomachs. All four occurred in the 4-in-1 product, with no fatalities reported in the 2-in-1 at this time.

The gliders were sold at popular retailers including Walmart, Target and Amazon. The 4-in-1 Rock ‘n Glide Soothers were sold from January 2014 through December 2020, for about $108. The 2-in-1 Soothe ‘n Play Gliders were sold from November 2018 through May 2021, for about $125.

If you have one of these gliders, immediately stop using it and contact Fisher Price for a refund. The CPSC emphasizes that babies should be placed to sleep on their backs on a firm, flat surface in a crib, bassinet or play yard.

Recall Alert: Ergobaby Strollers Recalled Due to Choking Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall of several Ergobaby strollers. Certain models have buttons that can become detached and pose a choking hazard.

The affected models include the METROUS1, METROUS2 and METROUS4 Compact City Strollers and impact about 2,800 products. Keep scrolling to see all the details.

The METROUS1, METROUS2 and METROUS4 Compact City Strollers contain a black button on the middle of the buckle that releases the harness and are difficult to release. They can then break off while a child is in the stroller and be a potential choking hazard.

The recalled strollers were sold online at ErgoBaby.com, AlbeeBaby.com and Amazon.com from Jul. 2018 through Sept. 2019 for about $300.

To determine if your stroller is part of the recall, check the model name located on the inside of the frame, above the right-side rear wheel. The models have a black, gray, or teal blue canopy and Ergo Baby printed on the front bottom of the stroller.

If you have a recalled stroller, you should stop using it until you contact Ergobaby for instructions and a get full free replacement restraint harness with buckle. Ergobaby has received 15 reports of broken buckles but no injuries at this time.

Recall Alert: IKEA Recalls Dinnerware Due to Burn Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall for IKEA HEROISK and TALRIKA bowls, plates and mugs. Made from PLA material from renewable sources, the products can become brittle and break, which may cause hot food or liquids to leak and cause burns.

The affected products were sold in a variety of colors including yellow, pink and blue. IKEA has been notified of 123 reports of issues worldwide, including four reports of injuries, most of which were burns.

Consumers can check if their products are affected by looking at the bottom of each product. Recalled items will have a supplier number of “23348,” “Made in Taiwan” and “PLA” molded on to the bottom.

The TALRIKA and HEROISK product were sold at IKEA stores nationwide and online from Aug. 2019 through May 2021 for $4-$12. If you do have a recalled item, stop using it immediately and return to an IKEA location for a full refund.

Recall Alert: K&M Slap Watches Recalled Due to Choking Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced that K&M International is recalling more than half a million Wild Republic Slap Watches. The small battery inside the watches can fall out and cause battery ingestion or choking hazards.

Wild Republic Slap Watches come in 42 models in various colors. The face on the watch has an animal design or a historical figure. If you flip the watch over, you’ll see “Made in China” with the initials K&M. The label does note that the slap watch is made for children three and up. About 463,000 watches were sold in the U.S., with about 75,000 more sold in Canada.

If you bought this watch for your child, immediately take it away and contact Wild Republic for a full refund. They were sold at various zoos, museums, aquariums, online at WildRepublic.com and Amazon for approximately eight dollars between 2018 and 2021. No incidents have been reported so far.

Recall Alert: Kidde Recalls Several Smoke & Combo Alarms Due to Alert Failures

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced that Kidde is recalling several different smoke and combination alarms due to a failure to alert consumers to a fire. The alarms were sold at retailers nationwide between May 2019 and September 2020.

This recall involves Kidde TruSense Smoke Alarms and Combination Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Alarms. The model numbers are 2040, 2050, 2060 and 2070, located on the back of the alarm. Only alarms with the TruSense logo or “AMBER=FAULT” printed on the front of the alarm are included in this recall. They were sold for between $10 and $70 and about 226,000 units are involved.

No incidents or injuries have been reported. Customers should immediately contact Kidde for a replacement alarm. In the meantime, continue using the current alarm until the replacement can be installed.

The U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) reports that Kolcraft has re-announced a recall of inclined sleeper accessory.

About 51,000 units are under recall and were sold with the Kolcraft Cuddle ‘n Care 2-in-1 Bassinet & Incline Sleepers and Preferred Position 2-in-1 Bassinet & Incline Sleepers. Read on to see all the details.

To see if your product is affected, check the model number located on the metal bar between the legs of the bassinet. Model number starting with KB063 and model number starting with KB061 have the sleeper insets under recall.

The bassinet was sold at various mass merchandisers from 2011-2017 for about $140. So far, no incidents have been reported with the Kolcraft product, but infant fatalities have been reported with similar inclined sleep products from other manufacturers.

If you have a recalled sleeper inset, stop using it immediately. You can contact Kolcraft for a $35 voucher to be used online or a $20 refund. Kolcraft is also contacting all registered users and known purchases directly via mail. You may continue to use the bassinet without the accessory.

The U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced that TJX has recalled several styles of infant sleep bags due to suffocation risk.

The sleep bags are sized 0-6 months and sold under the brand names Dylan & Abby, First Wish, First Wish Organic, Harry & Me, Little Red Caboose, Piper & Posie, Sam & Jo, Sam & Jo Organic, Shabby Chic and Willow Blossom. Customers may have purchased the bags at T.J. Maxx, Marshalls or Sierra.

The size of the neck opening is too large for infants 0 to 6 months, which can allow an infant’s head to slip into and be covered by the sleep bag, posing a risk of suffocation. If you have one or more of these bags in your household, check the style number to see if it’s under recall:

Fortunately, no incidents have yet been reported. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled infant sleep bags and contact TJX for instructions on how to participate in the recall. They’ll receive their choice of either a full refund or a store gift card.

One of Peloton’s most popular pieces of workout equipment is under voluntary recall. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CSPC) made the announcement after Peloton received information the products have caused one death and multiple injury reports.

Two different models are involved: the Tread+ with model number T01 and the Tread with model number T02. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CSPC) advises that owners of either model immediately stop using the treadmills and contact Peloton for a full refund.

In the case of the Tread+, adult users, children, pets or objects can be pulled underneath the rear of the treadmill, potentially causing injury or death. A six-year-old child recently tragically died and Peloton has received 72 reports of incidents involving the unit. There are about 125,000 units under recall and the model number TR01 is printed on a black sticker located on the end cap in the front of the treadmill deck.

If you decide to keep your Tread+, move it to a room where children and pets cannot access it. In addition, Peloton is implementing software improvements to the product to automatically lock the Tread+ after each use and prevent unauthorized access by assigning a 4-digit passcode that will be required to unlock the Tread+.

Additionally, some Peloton Tread owners will be affected by another recall. The touchscreen on this treadmill can detach and fall, posing risk of injury to users. There have been reports of minor injuries in Canada and the United Kingdom. There are about 1,050 units under recall in the U.S. and 5,400 in Canada. The model number TR02 is printed on a black sticker located on the end cap in the front of the treadmill deck.

If you decide to keep a Tread under recall, Peloton is offering a free inspection and repair that will secure the touchscreen to the treadmill. The company has stopped sales and distribution of the Tread+ at this time.

PlayGro Clip Clop Infant Activity Rattles

Playgro is recalling its Clip Clop Infant Activity Rattles because the abacus ring on the horses back can come off and release the small beads, posing a choking hazard to small children.

To see if your teether is part of the recall, the affected products contain batch code number 010053 or 010082 printed on the back of the sewn-in seam label. The product package will contain UPC code 9321104011459. Currently no reports have been received of choking.

The teethers were sold at Walmart stores and online at Walmart.com from Nov. 2020 through Jan. 2021 for $5.

B. toys Firefly Frank Infant Teethers

Battat is voluntarily recalling its B. toys Firefly Frank Infant Teethers. It's been found that the plastic wings can detach from the body of the teether, posing a choking hazard to young children.

The teethers were sold exclusively at Target and Target.com from Jul. 2019 through Feb. 2021 for $6 to $10.

The company has received 14 reports of the wings pulling off or pieces breaking, and one report of a child choking on a part of a broken wing. If you have one of the teethers, immediately take away fro children and return to a Target store for a full refund. Consumers can also contact Battat to return by mail for a full refund.
