You’re going to want to send this to your special someone, because they so deserve a boo basket

Whether you’ve heard of them or not yet, boo baskets are the newest Halloween-y project that’s gone viral. How do we know? TikTok, obviously. TikTok creator @emmasemingson‘s video seems to be at the heart of the trend (though we can’t say for sure whether or not she’s the Boo Basket Originator, she definitely knows her stuff).

See? Apparently, friends, you are entitled to a basket chock full of fall and Halloween goodies and we didn’t even know it. A boo basket is basically a basket (surprise!) with all sorts of little gifts and treats to celebrate the season. Wives and girlfriends appear to make up the bulk of recipients, though, of course, you can make a boo basket for anyone in your life. In fact, there are some people who use the ‘pass it along’ method of ‘booing’ someone. They leave a basket for a friend or neighbor, and that’s their cue to make one for someone else. But, you can give them however you want!

And, sure, it may feel like they’re just another thing to worry about during an already busy season, but trust us. These are seriously adorable, and, as TikTok creator Hunter from the account @maya.and.hunter points out, if your wife sends you a video of something, go ahead and do that something.

You can save a lot of money and hassle when booking these Disney World properties

Heading to Walt Disney World can be fun, stressful, exhilarating, and exhausting—all at the same time! Making sure that the family has some downtime is essential. One way to help parents with the whirlwind of a Disney vacation is to stay at a relaxing hotel that makes it easy to access the parks without hopping in the car.

Luckily two types of hotels do just those things! Those designated a Walt Disney World Good Neighbor® Hotel offer a Guest Services desk to help with Disney ticket purchasing, offer park shuttles, and meet Disney standards for quality and service. There are also partner hotels located directly on the Disney World property not owned by Disney that offer proximity and perks to guests staying there, making it that much easier to have a magical Disney World vacation the family has always imagined. Here are some of our favorites:

Caribe Royale | Orlando

Multiple pools, an arcade, a spa, bike rentals, a two-story fitness center, and seven restaurants and bars await families staying at this Good Neighbor resort. Located only one and a half miles from EPCOT, free shuttle transportation is available to all Disney parks and the Disney Springs shopping village. Theme park tickets are also available to be purchased at the resort. When it’s time for some sleep, choose from a one-bedroom suite or two-bedroom villa so the family has plenty of space for all their souvenirs.

Just when the world could use a hug, Disney steps up to the plate. For the first time in two years (which felt like, perhaps, forever), guests visiting Walt Disney World and Disneyland can cozy up to their favorite characters, including Mickey, Minnie, the Princesses, and the rest of the gang. Disney Parks announced Thursday that traditional character interactions—like, for real—would return “as early as April 18” to both parks. They invite us all to “embrace the magic” once again.

This milestone for Disney comes at an important time, marking the 50th Anniversary celebration at Walt Disney World. “We’ve welcomed back shows such as “Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire” and “Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular,” along with the Disney “Festival of Fantasy” Parade and new experiences like “Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade.” This spring, Disneyland will see the return of several beloved nighttime spectaculars, including “World of Color,” “Disneyland Forever,” “Fantasmic!” and “Main Street Electrical Parade,” celebrating its own 50th anniversary,” continued Slater.

Disney

On Disney Cruise Lines, guests can expect the trademark fireworks at sea show and make plans to attend the Broadway-style shows on every ship. Social distancing has been required for nearly all character interactions throughout the pandemic, except on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, which opened March 1 after the parks began rolling back Covid-19 protocols. But it seems that those awkward photos of families grouped in a photo near—but not too near—a Disney character may be on their way to being novel memories of the past.

Both parks have been slowly scaling back COVID-related restrictions in recent months, removing indoor mask mandates for vaccinated guests in mid-February and resuming pre-pandemic routines like daily parades. In Florida, Cast Members were sent a memo late November that said “In accordance with Governor DeSantis’ new legislation barring companies from requiring vaccination, Disney World’s vaccine mandate has been lifted,” the Orlando Sentinel reported. However, “We remain confident in the approach we have taken with our mandatory vaccine policy for Florida-based Cast Members and employees, with more than 90% of our active Florida-based Cast members and employees having verified that they are fully vaccinated, and we consider this to be very successful.” Prior to the legislation barring companies from requiring vaccination of their employees, the Walt Disney Company required that all salaried and non-union hourly employees in the U.S. working at any of their sites be fully vaccinated.

“While not all locations will be available immediately, we anticipate reopening in phases throughout the spring and early summer,” Disney Live Entertainment Senior Communications Manager Shawn Slater wrote in an official Disney blog post. “This exciting milestone continues the recent, powerful momentum of returning entertainment across the Disney parks and resorts.”

Disney Aulani Resort & Spa

Disney Aulani Resort & Spa - Honolulu, HI

There are, quite possibly, a thousand great reasons why visiting Disney Aulani with kids should be on your bucket list. For starters, there is a man-made reef, filled with fish, on the premises, that was built solely for your snorkeling pleasure. We also love the Painted Sky Studio where your little keiki (Hawaiian for kids) can get made over into a luau boy and girl. If they want to channel a more Disney-like character, they have Ariel from the Little Mermaid, Moana and more traditional Minnie Mouse Buns they can choose as well.

Of course, no visit to a Disney resort would be complete without QT with the big guy himself, so be sure to make reservations for the Disney Character Breakfast. Before sitting at your table, you’ll be able to grab a photo-op with Mickey himself who personally greets each and every guest before they head to their table and take their first bite. More comfortable with your feet on the ground? Club Med Circus School also engages participants in the circus arts, including face painting, choreography and music.

Are your kiddos too little to participate? No worries. The resort offers Baby Club Med, where babes ages four months to 24 months are cuddled, fed and put down for naps (their kind of vacay!). For tots three to four years old there’s Petit Club Med with caretaker-led outdoor play including golf and tennis. Iberostar has completely re-invented what it means to go to a kids' club. Star Camp is inspired by the Scout movement and incorporates the theory of multiple intelligences. The new program combines fun with core values and includes a range of activities (over 140, based on age!) that utilize and cater to the different ways kids learn: linguistic, musical, interpersonal, mathematical, naturalistic and more. There are 12 different categories including team sports, group challenges, science and cooking activities, board games, arts, crafts, physical leisure and even tech!

Star Camp is cheerfully designed, with many sustainable features, including the outdoor playground made of recycled plastic. There’s an indoor climbing/play structure, puzzles, crafts, Imagination Playground blocks for little kids and a mini trampoline park, climbing wall, lounge chairs and video games for the older crew.
