One of Sonoma County's most popular family-friendly wineries, this spot has two pools, bocce ball courts, a movie gallery showcasing Coppola film props such as Don Corleone's desk from The Godfather and the original automobile from Tucker: The Man and His Dream. The dreamiest part: there's a poolside restaurant where wine and food can be delivered to parents while the littles splash around. You can even rent a cabana for the day for your own private changing area and shower.

While Mom and Dad taste wines at Belden Barns Farmstead & Winery in central Sonoma County, the kids can borrow the winery’s scavenger-hunt-style “adventure” backpacks and wander the 55-acre property in search of flora, fauna, and random or whimsical items—making this spot one of the best kid friendly wineries Santa Rosa has to offer. The backpacks are filled with field guides to local birds or insects, magnifying glasses, sketchpads, crayons, and a checklist of things to find. There are also plenty of games for kids to play. This state-of-the-art fun and fitness center features a trampoline park, an arcade, a bowling alley, an indoor soccer field, laser tag, dining, and more. Put this on your list in case you encounter a rainy day on your wine-country weekend.
Kids of all ages will enjoy learning about long-time Santa Rosa resident and Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz at this museum with interactive exhibits, animated Peanuts specials, original comic strips, and more. Then head next door to the ice rink that Schulz had built in 1969 for some family skate time and snacks at the Warm Puppy Cafe.
For a real adventure, spend the day in the Sonoma Serengeti at Safari West. This accredited zoo offers guests who are four and older a tour of the 400-acre property in a safari Jeep. Younger guests will enjoy a walking tour where you can meet a flamboyance of flamingos and a tower of giraffes. Extend your stay in one of the property's tent bungalows and wake up to the sounds of wildlife.

Take a break from holiday shopping to take some and let the little ones take Santa pictures in Atlanta. St. Nick's little helpers will have this winter wonderland set up now through December 24. You have plenty of time to visit Father Christmas—so just watch out, no crying, no pouting, and the kids know why.

6. Santa at Scottsdale Farms
Spreading some Christmas cheer, Mr. Claus is making a stop at Scottsdale Farms. The farm offers a beautiful picturesque backdrop for your Santa pictures, Atlanta families. Plus, you're welcome to take your own pictures. What could be easier?
More than just a chance to take Santa pictures in Atlanta, this Santa visit is a whole experience. Sign up for everything from Santa pictures to holiday workshops, and enjoy them all at the totally decked out Callanwolde Mansion in the city. Live music, fire pits with s'more ready to roast, special storytimes, and more are what you'll find each weekend. Admission is free, although you do need to sign up for specific events and many have an additional cost associated with them.
Santa and friends will be at The Avenue ready to say cheese with selfies for the holiday season. From now until Christmas day every Monday families will have a chance to meet, greet and take pictures with Santa. Mrs. Claus is coming along for the sleigh ride as well. 9. Santa at Rhodes Hall
It's the 25th anniversary of this favorite Atlanta Santa. Bring the kids to Rhodes Hall to see the Castle on Peachtree as it's transformed into a winter wonderland. It's where you'll find Old St. Nick and his crew, waiting to take pictures with hopeful kids clutching holiday wish lists. You'll need to make a reservation in advance, and your session includes one picture, plus the chance to order an additional digital print when you're there. After they smile big, kids will get a goodie bag from The Big Guy they can take home.
Spend some QT with Santa at the Georgia Aquarium during the Merry Morning brunch on December 11. The Ocean's Ballroom will be awash in holiday cheer, and children's activities to enjoy after you've sat down for a catered breakfast. Kids will love listening to the animal keepers give their talks, before heading over to snap the cutest ever pic with jolly Old St. Nick against a special holiday backdrop. Originating in Pasadena, this chain has rapidly expanded across LA for good reasons: the food is tasty, the beer selection is awesome, and it's the perfect spot to enjoy it all with kids. From classic corn dogs to the exotic bacon-wrapped street dog, Dog Haus has a brat selection that will please every palate—including those who prefer their meat vegan as they serve the Impossible Burger and Beyond Sausage. Beer and video games. Need we say more? This Echo Park hot spot is kid-friendly until 8 p.m. every day of the week where you can button mash dozen of old-school video games and partake in dozens of brews from the tap, bottles, or cans. And leave your bag of quarters at home—a card system allows you to play video games to your heart's content. The card keeps track of everything for you. We love anything from the Japanese fusion menu, especially the fried tofu balls and the five spice apple fritters.
If you're in the mood for some of the juiciest brats, links, and dogs you’ve ever tasted, head to the German-inspired Wurstküche, purveyor of exotic grilled sausages. Be adventurous with a grilled rattlesnake and rabbit link, but get the old-fashioned brats or vegetarian links for the kiddos. With over 24 imported beers on tap, you’ll be able to find something you like, and trying to find that perfect pint is half the fun. The extra-crispy Belgian fries with homemade dipping sauces are sure to please everyone. Family-style tables are great for crowds.

There’s a reason Bar 326 remains a staple at the Original Farmer’s Market. It’s a low-key destination where you can grab a drink and plop down at one of the many tables and choose from a variety of food from around the world. With options from local food stalls like The Banana Leaf, The French Crepe Company, Charlie’s Coffee Shop, and more, it’s a picky eater's heaven since no one has to eat at the same place as everyone else.
Since the atmosphere is super casual, bring some board games and stay for a while, or show up on an evening during the weekend to soak in some live music. It's also pet-friendly so you can bring your fur babies too as long as they are on a leash.
NoHo's popular Pitfire is not technically a brewery but it's got a good beer vibe just the same. Go early on a Fri. evening and it's mostly families dining at the beer garden-style tables. While you nurse your drink, kids can run around playing ping pong and cornhole in the fully enclosed space.

1. Nordstrom Downtown Santa - Santa Lane
Your annual pilgrimage to see Santa at his ornate shop at the downtown Nordstrom is back on for 2022. That's right, after three years, Santa will once again return to the Downtown Nordstrom window on 6th and Pine to greet fans and take gift orders from kids of all ages. Photos will be printed on-site, and reservations are not available.
Good to Know: If waiting in line downtown isn't your speed, kids can also see Santa over brunch at Nordstrom stores throughout Washington. Make reservations soon for this area favorite.
Insider Tip: Get there early in the season or on a weekday, if you can, to avoid the long lines (you know they'll be big this year).
There are more than a few ways to celebrate the holidays on the Eastside this year, and Bellevue Square Santa pictures are just the beginning. Schedule your sit down with the Big Guy at Snowflake Lane Factory on the second level. It's by appointment only, and you can count on Santa spending QT with the kids while checking his list. Plan your Santa appointment in the evening to enjoy the nightly parade and occasional snow showers that add a touch of magic to the season at Snowflake Lane. If you're able, stop by the Holiday Wishing Tree in center court to pick up a tag and support a local family in need.
Get out your grins because the 14th Annual Magnolia Santa photos are back. Families (including your fur babies) can book an appointment on the weekend or Thursdays to have a sit down with Santa. He'll take the time to figure out whether your kids are on the naughty or nice list before striking his jolliest pose. You can do a few different poses, so you can mix things up a bit here and when all is said and done, you'll get 10-20 images sent over in matter of days. Don't forget to stop at the Nutty Squirrel for gelatto when you're done! Masks are optional here.

Venture out onto the world's first and only revolving glass floor to meet Santa and the Needle’s professional photographers will snap your free digital photo for the ultimate holiday photo op. If a chance to shop for great local products and snag a free Santa photo while you're at it is part of your holiday to-do list, head to Pike Place Market for some holiday Magic. Santa will be under the iconic Market clock taking pictures with visitors before he heads off to help light the tree. Then he'll be back on Dec. 3 and 4 with Crafty in tow (the magical snow monkey, of course) to take more pictures with his fans.
In his own cozy cabin near Room & Board, the University Village Santa is a Seattle favorite for a reason. Not only do families get to visit him in a private, cozy cabin that makes kids feel extra special, but parents can sneak off to do some covert holiday shopping while they're there. Schedule time to visit online and plan to arrive with about five minutes to spare before your appointment. While you’re there (and if you’re able) families can give a Winter Wish to a child in need. How? Just pull a tag from a Winter Wish tree. Then return your purchased, unwrapped gift to the house.
Families can find St. Nick at a his cabin in the Cafe building at Swanson's this year. He’ll be waiting to meet your little elves and have a quick convo with your crew before snapping that holiday photo you came for. Families will need to schedule online before heading over. While you're there, enjoy watching the train make its rounds (this year's theme is a Child's Imagination) and check out the great light displays, including dinosaur Humphrey who looks great in photos.
Asian American Santa is back at the Wing Luke Museum for 2021! While he was safe at home last year, he's happy to make his way back to sit with children and put on his best smile. You'll need to schedule photos in advance and things will move quickly (time slots are 3 minutes long!) when you get there. Please remember to bring proof of vaccination for anyone over 12 (negative tests will not be accepted) and masks for anyone over the age of 2. Spots are filling up quickly, so grab yours soon!
Black Santa is back and will be safely chatting with kids on December 19 and 20 at the Northwest African American Museum. Reservations will be part of the safety protocols in place, so make yours as soon as information is available. While you're there, be sure to check out this holiday market too. Keep up the joyful tradition this year!

10. Kirkland Urban - Frostival
All those in favor of pictures with Santa in a snow globe raise your hand. Then head to Kirkland Urban on a Saturday afternoon to snap one starting the weekend after Thanksgiving. That’s when families will find Santa ready to take pictures with your best-dressed kiddos. Our favorite part? The lifesize Gingerbread Suite kids get to walk through to get to the Big Guy in Red.
Your mask won’t hide your smile when your kids get to meet Santa at this favorite spot on the Eastside. You'll find this jolly old elf at Redmond Town Center where he sets up shop in the Center Street Plaza. There are five Santas to choose from this year, each with a belly that shakes like a bowl full of jelly and a twinkle in his eyes. So pick the Santa (and day) that works best for your family and make your reservation soon.
Two Christmas icons will be waiting to greet your kids at this new-this-year interactive display at Pacific Place downtown. Jolly Old St. Nick will be there to greet kids with open arms and a joyful laugh. But so will reformed Christmas bad guy, the Grinch. Schedule your photo online with one of these icons for the perfect holiday remembrance. They take the picture, you find the frame.

13. Alderwood Mall
According to local parents, the Alderwood Mall Santa wins for "most authentic” and we couldn't agree more. They’ve had the same Santa here year after year, which is really convenient for taking those holiday photos as the kids get older (and wiser). And who can resist Santa's awesome and adorable outfits? Book time with this popular Santa online (recommended). They also have a pet night and sensory-friendly Santa experiences here.
If meeting Santa and seeing his reindeer sounds good to you, reserve your spot to do both at the annual Issaquah Reindeer Festival at Cougar Mountain Zoo. Picture this: Santa sitting atop his festive sleigh while your cute kiddos, dressed in their holiday best, perfect that winning smile. Sounds like a holiday card in the making to us. Be sure to visit with the other animals while you're there too. Although the Reindeer Festival goes through the end of December, Santa will only be there for photos through December 23.
Good to Know: You can still visit with Santa's reindeer at the zoo from Dec. 26-30, 2022.
Santa isn't the only thing you'll see when you head south to the Victorian Country Christmas at the state fair grounds. In fact, you and the kids can enjoy more than 500 exhibits decorated to look like Victorian shops with thousands of unique holiday gifts, handcrafted items and great specialty foods items. Professional entertainment is featured on two stages, and kids will flock to Santa’s Village. Why? Because it's where they can have their photos taken with Mr. Claus and send wishes in the Magical Mailbox.

Kids can also climb aboard a vintage train car to visit with Old St. Nick. It's a clickety-clack excursion they won't soon forget. Book your ticket on the Yuletide Express that departs weekends from Snoqualmie. It’s an abbreviated train ride (just 25 minutes), but kids will get to see Santa and receive a little gift too. It's ho ho ho awesome. For a real adventure, we're talking overnight, put Leavenworth on your winter travel list. can’t go wrong visiting Santa at the Leavenworth Reindeer Farm, where kids can meet his friendly reindeer (and feed them by hand, too!). From space exploration to a foodie family’s dream spot, you and your crew will love what you’ll find along the scenic roads of Alabama. We rounded up our favorite family road trip finds for your next three-day getaway.
Day 1
Start your epic road trip in Huntsville, nicknamed Rocket City. With the perfect balance of history, art, culture, nature and science featured in their family-friendly attractions, we picked our top places to stop in 24 hours.
Grab freshly-made pastries from Peggy Ann Bakery, one of the oldest and most revered bakeries in town. It’s perfect for any sweet tooth in your family, providing endless options of cookies, brownies, cupcakes and muffins. Then, head ten minutes up the road to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. Get ready to check out one of the biggest collections of spacecraft, rockets and tons of incredible space artifacts. Anyone over the age of seven can participate in the Family Aviation Training and the Family Astronaut Training as long as they bring an adult.
When you’re ready for lunch, head to Tenders! in the Five Points Historic District for the best platter of nuggies—a.k.a. the “Big Daddy” that comes fully loaded with tenders, fries, Texas toast, slaw and a side of two sauces.
Then, drive eight minutes southwest to the Hunstville Botanical Garden for 118 acres of fun, exploration and beauty. From aquatic habitats and stunning woodland paths to beautiful collections of Alabama’s native plants, the Garden invites guests of all ages. We recommend scoping out the open-air butterfly house, the largest in the nation, so your youngsters can encounter breathtaking butterflies.
Once everyone dries off, drive seven minutes to the Earlyworks Children’s Museum, an interactive museum built for children. Inside you’ll find hands-on exhibits such as their kid-struction zone, federal house, general store, and more. Don’t forget to stop by the Talking Tree for a magical storytime.
Finish your first day with award-winning, Alabama-style eats at Moe’s Original Bar B Que, from delicious wings and pulled pork to Shrimp Moe-Boy sandwiches. Bonus: the Mississippi mud pie will be the sweetest ending to your first day.
Day 2
Drive just 90 minutes south, and you’ll be in beautiful Birmingham where sports, history and animal fun abound. If you’re going to explore all this town has to offer, you’ll need to start with a hearty breakfast. Filter-Coffee Parlor makes all-day frittatas and hefty bagel sandwiches. After breakfast, head five minutes away toward the 56-foot-tall cast iron statue (the largest on earth) in the four-acre Vulcan Park.
After you take in some of the best city views in town, stop by the Vulcan Park & Museum for a kid-friendly scavenger hunt. First, grab a worksheet; you’ll love how it captures your kids’ attention and keeps them interested in what the museum offers. Then, walk up the stairs or hop on the elevator to see the city from a phenomenal perspective.
Pro tip: Your tickets are good all day, so you can come back to see the sunset after you finish your Day 2 adventures. It’s open until 10 p.m.
After you’ve worked up an appetite, head downtown to Railroad Park. The 19-acre green space, known as “Birmingham’s Living Room,” hosts family activities, concerts and cultural events.
It’s hard to believe, but 15 minutes away, you’ll find what feels like a world away at Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve. With over 1,000 acres to explore, an afternoon won’t feel like enough time, but you can still do and see plenty. Start at the Nature Center, where you can see native species, including snakes. Then, hit the Quarry Trail. It’s very clearly marked and easy to follow. About halfway through the hike, you’ll get a great view of all the planes coming and going from the airport. Fur babies are welcome at the preserve, too.
For dinner, head 16 minutes south of Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve to check out the Homewood location of Ashley Mac’s. The mom-owned and mom-run restaurant not only boasts an epic kids’ menu but they’ll also help keep your little ones’ hands busy with Wiki Stix. If you’d rather grab takeout, the restaurant offers weeknight meals for around $35 to feed a family of four.
Day 3
We found two great itinerary options for the last day of your adventure.
Option 1
Head a half hour south and get ready to spend the perfect family day at Oak Mountain State Park. With over 50 miles of hiking, biking, fishing, swimming and equestrian trails, your tiny outdoor enthusiasts will love all that there is to do. Pack your food because the state park is in a remote location and be sure to take advantage of the day-use picnic facilities where tables and grills make for an enjoyable lunch.
For fun, rent a boat or pack a paddleboard to get out on the water. The lake is also known for its good trout fishing, so don’t forget your tackle box. Or, spend the day soaking in the sun and splashing in the clear water.
Option 2
Drive about an hour and a half to Montgomery, the capital city and one of the most important sites of the Civil Rights Movement. This thriving city was home to the Montgomery Bus Boycotts, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once preached and where the Selma to Montgomery Marches ended.
Start your day at the National Memorial for Peace and Justice, America’s first national memorial to remember the victims of lynching. Each steel monument hanging from the ceiling represents the U.S. counties where lynchings tragically occurred. In addition, the museum provides an impactful opportunity to teach kids about slavery and discrimination.
Finish your last day burning off some energy at the Montgomery Riverfront Park that sits along the banks of the Alabama River. It features areas for little and big kids to enjoy, including riverboat rides, an amphitheater for concerts and productions and the historic Union Station Train Shed that serves as a venue space for family-friendly events. Your kiddos will love the sprawling space and nonstop entertainment.
