If you used DoorDash this year to order groceries, dinner or diapers, you’re not alone. With 18 million users, the delivery service is extremely popular, especially for its convenience during the pandemic. Now the Deep Dish Report has aggregated order data from Jan. 1 to Oct. 1, featuring the most popular trends of the year.

Take note: Saturday is the most popular day to order groceries and most orders come in around dinner time. So if you’re looking for faster delivery, consider ordering early in the day or midweek. DoorDash users went bananas, literally, as the fruit was the most popular grocery item ordered. And users seem to love their guac, since avocados and roma tomatoes were other extremely popular items.

On the meal delivery side, French fries reigned supreme. They were the top ordered item in 2021, followed by chicken nuggets (obviously), gyro bowls, customizable pizzas, cheesesteaks and acai bowls. In Canada, Pad Thai took the top spot over poutine and in Australia, nachos won out.

Finally, some seemingly random items proved popular on the platform. In June, DoorDash found that crickets were one of the top searched items in the Pets category, maybe for all those hungry reptiles out there. And navy blue comforters were the most popular household item, going against a popular TikTok video that claimed #NavySheets were out. Whatever you’re ordering, it’s easier than ever to get it quickly, safely and affordably!
