‘Heatless curls’ are trending, and here are 7 ways to do them
We’re all about as much payoff with as little effort as possible, and we’re not the only ones. All you have to do is open TikTok or Instagram and you’ll get hit with a heatless curls tutorial. So, naturally, the idea of falling asleep and waking up to gorgeous waves is our idea of a dream, so we rounded up some of our favorite heatless hair products and some of our favorite tutorials for how to do them.
The methods can look a little complicated at first glance, but they’re so not. Expect a little trial and error, though, especially if you’re a loyal heat tool user. You and your hair will need to get used to these new twists, but aside from making mornings so much easier, you can expect healthier hair overall. We don’t have to tell you how damaging heat styling can be, so even if you only use these options a few times a week instead of your regular routine, your hair will thank you. They’re also fantastic for kids’ hairstyles.
One of the OG heatless curl sets, the Kitsch Satin Heatless Curling Set is great for medium to long hair in all different textures. The satin headband keeps your hair from getting damaged while you’re wearing it and it’s cushy enough to comfortably sleep in. We’ve been doing it for weeks (and we take our sleep seriously).
The Octocurl Roller Band features 8 sets of double hair rollers (16 single rollers). Wrap with 4 curlers for voluminous curls, 2 curlers for soft loose curls, 1 curler for spirals or twist outs, wrap tightly for springy coils, or braid for beach waves. Each roller is soft enough to sleep on, too.
Beauty blogger @laineymariebeauty rocks this old-school heatless curls method. She only left them in for around an hour, though, versus overnight, so just keep that in mind (no guarantees, but our experience tells us you’d probably wake up with some extremely intense curls if you slept on curling rods that thin). She used a leave-in conditioner first (we like this one) and finished off the look with cult fave Moroccan Oil.
Charisse from @charissechristine makes using curlformers look easy (and makes the end result look incredible). Curlformers essentially ‘zip up’ into your hair (don’t worry, it’s not scary), so you don’t have to twist and roll it yourself. Charisse used Mielle Organics Babassu Brazilian Curly Cocktail Curl Mousse and dampened her hair with a spray bottle. She did choose to use a blowdryer to speed up the process, but you definitely don’t have to if you want to go 100% heatless. You’ll just need to leave your curlformers in longer.
@fraya.beauty gets her big bouncy curls from a combination of jumbo curling rods and self-holding rollers at her roots. She starts with Coco & Eve Miracle Hair Elixir, then sections her roots and just lays her hair over the rollers. Finish the lengths with jumbo half-bend curling rods.
UK brand Cordina Hair offers the Flower Curl for easy curls with a ponytail and a few twists. The satin rings protect your locks from damage (and as a bonus, it keeps your hair out of your face while you wear it). You can use bobby pins or small claw clips to keep the strands in place while they set.

It's all in the name. The frills of this red plaid dress add some extra detail, and it also comes in a Cream and Sugar Rose print.
We absolutely love the unique bold hues of this stunning dress, Try adding contrasting tights and a sparkly headband for an exceptionally lovely holiday look.
The quintessential holiday dress, the Audrah has a soft tulle petticoat (who says 'stunning' has to be uncomfortable?). It also comes in a dreamy Pebble Grey option.
Everything from Ivy City Co. is a show-stopper, so it's no surprise that the Coco Dress is, too. We're so here for this unique color for the holidays. Oh, and bonus: there's a women's version, too.
Even though it's not officially a holiday dress, we can't think of a single reason why this star-studded dress wouldn't be perfect for all the festivities.

Rent-a-Romper
Founded by mom, Lauren Gregor, this baby clothing subscription box aims to kill two birds with one stone: make parents' lives easier by shipping you the clothes your child needs (and can grow into) and alleviating the negative effects that the fashion industry has on the planet. Read on to find out how they do this (and more) one capsule collection at a time.
How It Works: Take the quick quiz and Rent-a-Romper will curate a capsule wardrobe just for your child. Wear the clothes as long and as often as you like, and then return the styles in the compostable self-addressed package when you're ready to size up or swap out styles. Simply log back into Rent-a-Romper to designate what you'd like in your next capsule delivery.
Why You'll Love It: Parents are faced with enough choices, which means sometimes less is more. You'll love that instead of dozens of choices, you can choose either their "Essential Capsule" with 7 items or the "Premium Capsule" that comes with 15 items. Our recent "Just the Essentials" box came with just the must-have pieces, including pajamas, casual tees, pants for play, and even a button-down. The box was thoughtfully curated and included essentials that our growing tot could wear on a daily basis.
Ages: preemie to 4T
Cost: The "Premium Capsule" costs $41/month and the “Essentials Capsule” cost $24/month

All items found in The Commons are under $50, which makes finding affordable clothes for particular tweens easier than ever.

FabKids creates original, comfortable, and on-trend pieces as well as wardrobe staples like leggings and tees. You can also request fashion pieces like dresses and boots. Start by taking a quick style quiz. Then each month, Fabkids will send style picks directly to your inbox. Choose the pieces you want or skip the month.
Why You’ll Love It: Unlike clothing subscription services that send a mystery box to your door each month, Fabkids hands the control over to parents to decide what to buy and when.
Ages: Boys and Girls 2-14.
Cost: Sign up for VIP membership and enjoy up to 50% off regular prices, early access to exclusive collections, sales, and more. $30/month goes toward your purchase.

The design is all done in-house so you won’t find these styles in stores. And be sure to check out their e-commerce shop to order individual items between seasons.
Why You’ll Love It: Rockets of Awesome taps into your buying history and preferences to create an ultra-customized shopping experience. The more you shop, the more tailored the selections become. You also have the ability to take a peek at your upcoming box and swap out items you don’t want.

How it works: Once you fill out a profile for each kid using the service, you’ll receive eight new or like-new items of clothing. Kids can wear those items for a full 30 days before returning them. If there’s something your kid loves too much to send back, you can buy that item at a deep discount.
Why you’ll love it: There’s no charge for shipping, you’ll have stylists picking stuff based on the categories and customizations based on your preferences (with no styling fees), and you’ll have access to hot brands like Burt’s Bees Baby, OMAMImini, Kickee, I Haven’t The Foggiest, Frenchie Mini Couture, PopUpShop, Mimi and Maggie, Red Caribou, and more. Also, if you’re opting to have gently-used items sent to you, it’s good to know that all items go through an inspection and an eco-friendly cleaning process after being returned and before being sent back out.
Ages: 6 months – 12 years
Cost: $40 per month for 8 pieces of new and like-new professionally cleaned & inspected clothing for 30 days, or $80 per month for 8 pieces of brand-new clothing for 30 days.
Lifestyle brand Izzy & Liv has a version of their Brown Sugar Box for kids and teens.
How it works: Both boxes will be themed, and even though the items will be a mystery until opened, everything included will equal a retail value of at least $100. You'll get at least one Izzy & Liv shirt and other sweet things made with the brown sugar girl in mind. Little girls might get school supplies, hair accessories, and books, while tweens can expect to get beauty products, lunch totes, and even pillow covers.
Why you'll love it: This box is designed with African American girls in mind, with culturally inspired items featured in every box.
Ages: Kids ages 4-8 and tweens ages 9-14
Cost: If you sign up now, you'll lock in a special $45 (plus shipping) quarterly rate.
One of the most unique clothing subscriptions we've seen, this new service helps moms swap gently used clothing while making sustainable choices in regards to buying clothes for fast-growing kiddos.
How it works: Fill out a profile for your child, select your delivery preferences (monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly), and you'll receive a box of 8-10 gently-used items in your kid's size. At drop-off, you'll be able to hand off any of the items your kid has outgrown, so they can be passed on to a local family. As a bonus, 40% of the items received are donated to a local family in need, rather than thrown out or lost.
Why you'll love it: All items come washed, with no tears or stains. In addition, you can throw in seasonal items like swimsuits, boots, rain jackets, and fancy clothes.
Even though it's more of an accessories subscription, we couldn’t resist these adorable food necklaces from Tiny Hands. Consider signing up for a monthly delivery that’s perfect for pre-tween kiddos.
How it works: Join the Necklace of the Month club and your kid will receive a miniature food necklace in line with the theme for that month. For example, month one is cupcakes, month two is cookies, month three is donuts, and so on.
Why you’ll love it: The teeny, tiny details of each necklace will remind you of dollhouse miniatures, and each one has a yummy scent!
You'll never have to worry about not having enough socks again with this fun monthly shipment. Just decide how often you want to receive a box of socks, and once you sign up, they'll start delivering on your preferred schedule.
Why you'll love it: Fun, colorful socks bring a little joy into a kids' daily wardrobe.

Let’s be honest, when is the last time you gave your hair the attention it deserves? In honor of a well-deserved mom’s night out, we’ve got cute and easy hairstyles that put the mom bun to shame, and if you invest a few extra minutes in one of these hairstyles for moms you won’t be sorry. From pretty ponies to beautiful braids, these easy hair do’s will get you up and at ’em to take on the day. Looking for kid’s styles? Check this out.
Sure, you've mastered the half-up ponytails, but why not add a twist? This simple style from Lynzy & Co. takes a basic braid and twists it into a bun for a style that is equal parts casual and dressy.
A fun, but easy hairstyle to keep your curly or natural hair up and out of the way is a pineapple updo like the one shown in this easy-to-follow YouTube tutorial from Bianca Alexa. All you need is a little moisturizer and a scrunchie, and you’ll have a perfect updo in minutes.
Great for day two hair, this easy boho braid from Lauren McBride is great for keeping hair out of your face. Great for curly, straight, thick, or thin hair, this French braid style starts at the crown of your head and hangs down the style in a super chic style.
Bypass the mom bun entirely with this lookalike style that packs a bigger punch! This look is created by doing a half pony, then using the remaining hair to sweep around the back. Finish off this look from What's Up Moms by adding an adorable scarf! This look is an easy transition from summer to fall.
We all love a good braid but not everyone has the skills or time to make one happy on a busy morning. We love this topsy-turvy braid from Missy Sue even more because it pairs perfectly with a hat! Whether you're prepping for a weekend getaway or rocking the school morning, this easy "braid" adds style in a cinch.
Ponytails are some of the easiest styles to pull off, but why not turn your everyday 'do into something more stylish? It's as simple as making a low pony, then using a section of your hair to wrap around your ponytail to create this sleek look that couldn't be simpler. Have curly hair? No problem! This style looks equally fab when it's a little messy, too. To see how it's done in person, check out the full tutorial from Alex Gaboury.
This side rope braid is pulled together in two minutes and is great for thick, long hair. While the end result is simply stunning, the steps to achieving this look is really quite simple. Emily from The Freckled Fox shows us how it's done in her YouTube tutorial.
When you're tired of your regular ponytail, there's no shame in dressing it up. This one-minute version looks classy and put together, without taking up precious moments of your hectic morning. Sectioned hair is pulled into a ponytail, then the sides are twisted and wrapped around to give a twisted look that's more than fit for school drop-offs (or Zoom calls). See how easy it is by watching this tutorial by Bebexo.
Headbands are a go-to on those just-can’t-get-it-together mom mornings, but that doesn’t mean you can’t dress that look up a bit for a cute, compliment-worthy look. We love these easy headband hairstyle ideas from A Beautiful Mess that let you just get up and go without resorting to a baseball cap to hide your hair at school drop-off. All you need is a few bobby pins and a colorful wire headband or just a rolled-up scarf.
Date nights and summer concerts are all about flowing tresses, but who has time for curlers or a curling iron to get those coveted beachy waves? Opt for a heatless curling rod headband, which gives you that look overnight. A total win for busy moms.
Modeled by CurlGilrMomo, this easy hairstyle for natural hair looks like it takes serious effort, but it can, in fact, be done in just a few minutes. Besides giving your hair a beautiful updo, this look is a protective style, perfect for keeping your natural hair safe and healthy while it grows. Check out this fast and easy-to-follow video tutorial on YouTube to see how to get this effortless look.
This tried-and-true style is probably one you’ve rocked before, but there are several easy ways you can jazz up the basic half-up hairdo, and make it a little more sophisticated. Something as simple as looping your hair a few times after pulling it back or using a unique clip to hold it in place can take this look to another level. For more half-up hairdos, check out our favorite easy looks here.
Twisted Ponytail
Shahrzad Warkentin
Ponytails are always an easy hair solution when you want to sweep your locks away from grabby baby hands. You can make this staple updo a lot more interesting by adding a twist. All you need are a few bobby pins. Simply pull your hair back into a high or low ponytail. Then separate a small section of your hair and wrap it around your hair tie. Secure the ends in place with a bobby pin or two.
This is an easy hairstyle that’s meant to look a little messy, so you don’t have to spend a lot of time perfecting those wayward strands if you have hair that’s hard to tame. Create a side part, and gather all your hair to the side in a low ponytail. Wrap your hair tie around and twist it while twisting your hair at the same time, and loop the band around one more time to create a loose messy bun. Use bobby pins to tuck in loose ends and give the bun more shape.

So many toys, so little time. Imagine being able to borrow and return new toys, just like books at the library. Well, that’s what mom Christie Jacobs thought when she’d had enough with her kids playing on the iPads too much. With limited space, she didn’t want to keep buying new toys. Instead, she created ToyLibrary, a service that provides unlimited access to over 500 educational toys. "ToyLibrary lets you borrow and play with the newest toys, curated and selected by child development experts so parents always get the best toy for their child,” Jacobs said. "Parents enjoy an uncluttered house, great value and the convenience of free shipping straight to their door." Kids can play with the toys for a month, three months or 12 months, and then just return them in the pre-paid mailer.
Cost: $30 a month for two toys; $20 a month for six toys for three months; $12.50 a month for 24 toys for 12 months.
