With only 122 rooms at Sea Breeze Beach House, you may arrive a stranger, but the staff does a great job of making you feel like you are part of the family. The property feels more like a “Beach House” than a resort, which means it’s full of authentic Bajan charm, with no corporate veneer. This 4-star, boutique all-inclusive resort in Barbados is a great option for American families looking for a relaxing beach stay with great food, staff, and water play options.
The room at Sea Breeze Beach House delivered beyond our expectations, and we’ll never forget the sound of our giddily squealing children as they entered the room for the first time. We stayed in an Ocean View Room with 1 King and Sofa Bed, which offers plenty of space and comfort for two adults and two children. We enjoyed the design aesthetic of the room as it was a departure from the modern neutrals we are seeing as standard in a lot of bigger hotel chains these days. The room was chic, with contemporary coastal style and elegant pops of turquoise. We also enjoyed the walls being dressed with paintings by local Bajan artists. The room made us feel like we were in Barbados, which is exactly how we want to feel on vacation!

As far as in-room amenities, we were greeted by a selection of cool drinks and snacks, which were refilled for us daily. Most notably, we enjoyed the bath robes and the private balcony overlooking the beach. As the kids took their afternoon naps, we slouched into the recliners on the balcony with our books. Then, come night, we slept like babies hearing the peaceful crashing of the waves outside our balcony.

The property is set on 1,000 feet of powdery white-sand beach, and the beach is the #1 draw to stay at The Sea Breeze Beach House. The setting of the beach is calm and quiet, and there is loads of space to stretch out. For those looking for some activity, there are a few floating trampolines in the water, and snorkels, boogie boards, paddle boards, and kayaks to use at your heart’s content
For those who like to complement beach time with pool time, the pool area is relaxed and spacious, with both a family pool and an adult pool. There is food and drink service at both pools, and the staff is very attentive in ensuring needs are met. We enjoyed the ice cream bicycle cart that stopped by the pool mid-morning and mid-afternoon offering popsicles as a refreshment.
We didn’t get to experience the Spa, but it recently opened, so for parents looking to get some self-care scheduled while on holiday, Sea Breeze Beach House now offers some spa pampering.

Families feel right at home at Sea Breeze Beach House, and the Kids Club and Games Lounge are programmed with indoor and outdoor activities for children 4+. For children under 4, parent supervision is required in the Kids Club. The Kids Club itself is a bit dark and tired, but the new General Manager assured us that the Kids Club was going to be given a modern refresh in the coming weeks.
Sea Breeze also offers in-room babysitting, which we took advantage of, and our children were happy as can be with the babysitters. We arrived back to the room to find them laughing and playing together like old pals. Most importantly, the babysitters made us feel safe, and like they genuinely enjoyed being with children.

As for the food and drink, rest assured, there is a lot of it, and it’s quite good. The parents enjoyed made-to-order omelets for breakfast, and make-your-own salads for lunch, and the kids were happy with pancakes and pasta. Our most memorable meal was the seafood buffet at the Mahogany Lounge on the Saturday night of our arrival. We couldn’t believe our eyes. There was literally a boat filled with fresh fish! With children in tow, Mahogany Lounge is the best choice for dining; but admittingly, after eating there every day for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner, it starts to lose some of its initial appeal. We also tried Cerulean and Aqua Terra, and we were happier with the food at Mahogany.
Lastly, we’ll end with something interesting that we didn’t know before our visit. Brits make up the largest percentage of travelers to Barbados every year, and that was certainly the case at Sea Breeze Beach Hotel, too. So, a trip to Barbados can give American families a 2-for-1 value in terms of cultural immersion as you get immersed in both Bajan and British culture. And if you come back saying “Hello, mate,” don’t say we didn’t warn you!

If you are not experiencing mobility challenges, it’s about a 5-minute walk from the rooms to the waterpark once you’ve familiarized yourself with the layout of the property.

Your complete Bay Area Christmas tree buying guide for cut-your-own or pre-cut Christmas trees
Is there anything like the smell of a freshly cut Christmas tree? We didn’t think so, either. This year, continue (or start) a tradition of picking up your family’s Christmas tree near San Francisco by buying from a local tree farm. From intimate family-owned farms to ones complete with holiday train rides and Santa visits, there’s one close to you no matter where you are in the Bay Area. Good to know: most Christmas tree farms open the day after Thanksgiving with a couple of them opening earlier in case you can’t wait to inhale that fresh fir scent.
Head to this family-owned and operated pop-up Christmas tree lot on the banks of the Arroyo Mocho Creek on Mines Road. You can also purchase poinsettias, pinecones, locally-sourced mistletoe, along with other holiday-themed items. And don't forget your letters to Santa! They have a mailbox where you can drop your letters and are guaranteed to make it to the big guy. Good to Know: There's plenty of parking but no restrooms here so plan accordingly.
Enjoy an outdoor experience in the East Bay hills at the Castro Valley Christmas Tree Farm, where the whole family, including the kids, are invited to help saw down the perfect tree. The farm has been open since 1969 for families looking for a “woodsy” experience in the East Bay.
We love this spot to choose your perfect tree (sizes range from tiny tabletop trees to 11 footers) and then enjoy some hot cocoa, cider and popcorn by the firepit . Santa’s Tree Farm and Village
Since 1972, this tree farm has been quite a festive holiday destination. In addition to offering trees grown without herbicides or pesticides and over 480 acres worth of trees to choose from, you'll also find train rides, life-sized reindeer, and Santa's Village where you'll find carolers, handmade goodies in the Elves' Workshop.
This local, family-owned farm has a great selection of pre-cut Noble Fir and Silver tip Christmas trees, fresh garlands, and wreaths. If you get lucky, you just might run into Sam's Chowdermobile for a savory bowl of chowder to boot!

Families love to come to these Los Gatos spots as they have two farms with an excellent selection and room to spread out. Take a picture on the sleigh, visit with Santa at the gift shop, and enjoy bonfires (weather permitting). Worth noting: There are two locations (Old Town Farm & Rancho Farm) to choose from, just 0.75 miles apart.

Located about 15 minutes south of San Jose, the farm has been in the Christmas tree biz for over 50 years. They offer both choose-and-cut trees, and a wide selection of pre-cut trees that come from their farm in Oregon. Look for the huge 35-foot-tall Santa Claus that greets motorists on the west side of the freeway as you travel on 101.
Owned and operated by the same family who originally planted the trees in 1958, this U-cut tree farm invites you and your family to join theirs in making new and lasting memories. A pre-cut lot with Noble firs along with wreaths are also available.
If you're looking for a fun family experience, head over to Rancho Siempre Verde, this hidden gem just south of Half Moon Bay in Pescadero. For over 55 years, this family-owned farm has been sharing their magnificent U-cut Christmas trees, eclectic collection of swings and xylophones scattered throughout the property (not to mention all-you-can-eat toasted marshmallows) and sweeping Pacific Ocean views with a few lucky, in-the-know visitors. Worth noting: it's cash only, dogs are welcome and don't forget to pick a pear galette or walnut pie at neighboring Pie Ranch on your way out.

Located in Sebastopol, the picturesque barn and farm setting at Grandma Buddy's Christmas Trees has been used for numerous photo shoots, including Pottery Barn catalogs. Families love Pochini's farm because it is family-run and they just get how it goes when you are cutting down your tree with your kids. The staff is super helpful and available to help you cut your tree, shake the needles out, bundle it up, and even strap it to the top of your car. They grow primarily Douglas Fir and White Fir and offer other varieties of pre-cut trees that come from Oregon. Open on Fri.-Sun., they typically run out of trees by mid-December—so plan ahead. Just a quick flight from the U.S. will get you to these resorts for some well-deserved family time
With its breathtaking cliffs, many nightlife offerings, and beautiful beaches, the Los Cabos area of Mexico is well known as a luxury vacation spot. But amazingly, it’s also the perfect spot for fun family getaways. Both kids and adults will enjoy water activities on the Sea of Cortez, taking in the area’s great location for whale watching, or off-roading in a four-wheeler. And when it’s time to head back to the hotel, staying at an all-inclusive resort can help control spending while keeping everyone occupied when onsite.
Some of Cabo has non-swimmable beaches so you’ll want to check that before you go if that’s high on your list. Here are some of the best all-inclusive resorts we found for families in Cabo.
