Great for family barbecues (or picky pasta eaters) this quick pasta dish takes minutes to throw together and only requires four ingredients—all of which we’re willing to bet you have in your pantry. Rebekah of PDXfoodlove is a big fan of the simple combination of high-quality mayonnaise and freshly ground black pepper. This rich combination really makes the recipe pop. Originally created as a side dish, this Hawaiian Pasta Salad is a must-have recipe for summer. This recipe yields two small servings. You might want to double or triple it if you’re feeding some especially hungry kiddos.

Ingredients for Hawaiian Pasta Salad:

1 c (dry) small pasta, such as shells or elbow macaroni
3 tbsp excellent quality mayonnaise
1 tbsp milk
Lots of freshly ground black pepper

Method:

1. Cook the pasta according to the package directions, and allow it to cool down a bit so as not to curdle your milk. In the meantime, mix the mayo and milk together with a fork to create a mixture a little thicker than say, ranch dressing. You can add milk or mayo to your preference.

2. Stir the two together, and then season with a very very large amount of freshly ground black pepper.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently announced a salad, wrap and salad bar tray recall for products sold at Whole Foods Markets and Whole Foods Markets 365 in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Representatives from GHSW, LLC (the manufacturers of the recalled items) did not immediately return Red Tricycle’s request for comment.

The current recall was issued after the discovery of an undeclared potential allergen. The mayonnaise used to make some of the products may contain soy. If you or your child have a soy allergy, read on for more recall information.

Recalled Product Description: GHSW Salads, Wraps and Salad Bar Trays

The products in this recall were sold in two Whole Foods Markets 365 in Texas and at various Whole Foods Markets in Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. These include Classic Potato Salad, Classic Tuna Salad Wrap, Smoked Mozzarella Pasta Salad, Traditional Egg Salad, Yellowfin Tuna Salad, Broccoli Crunch, Veggie Crudite Bowl with Asparagus and Bell Peppers and Veggie Crudite Bowl with Jicama and Mini Peppers.

For a full list of products, sizes, packaging and UPC codes, visit the FDA’s website here.

Why These Salad Products Were Recalled

GHSW found during a routine label review that the products’ packaging did not properly declare soy. While some of the products do contain the words “May Contain Soy,” all of the labels in the recall fail to correctly declare this ingredient, putting anyone with a soy allergy at risk.

There are currently no known injuries or adverse reactions caused by these products.

How to Tell if Your Salad Product or Wrap is Part of the Recall

The recall only includes products sold at select Whole Foods and Whole Foods 365 stores in the states of Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Visit the FDA’s website for a full description of each product on the recall list.

What Parents Can Do

If you have one of the affected products and you, your child or anyone else in your household has a soy allergy, don’t eat it. Throw the product away or bring it back to the place of purchase for a refund. You can call GHSW with questions at 888-449-9386 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. through 4 p.m. or email info@rfgfoods.com.

So, What Makes This New Theater So Special?
First of all, there’s now no more rushing to make sure that you get a good seat. You can reserve your seat ahead of time by using the Cinemark app which guarantees you preferred seating no matter what time you arrive. Popular new movies will fill up fast, so the earlier you can schedule your reservation, the better. If you are more spontaneous, don’t fret, every seat in each of the six stadium auditoriums offers a great view. And we’re not joking!

A State-Of-The-Art Movie Watching Experience
The Cinemark Reserve Lincoln Square features curved, wall-to-wall screens that illuminate with the brightest digital projection system available and surround sound which will make your movie come alive that much more. Since the theatre is set aside for those ages 21 and up, you no longer have to fear a little person kicking the back of your seat. In fact, these are not your typical theater seats. They are plush, heated, ergonomic recliners that are so nice, you’ll want to take one home with you. The seats recline backward and extend a footrest and each comes with a special button to call over a server when needed and a table to place your food on. The only thing that would make the seating even better would be if they included a cat to sleep on your lap.

A Dining Experience Like No Other
Though movie theater dining isn’t new to Seattle, Cinemark states that this is the only theater (at this time anyway) that offers full, seat-side service for every chair and the food choices are far from typical. Appetizers include Rosemary Fries with Chipotle Mayonnaise, Pulled Pork Nachos and Blistered Shishito Peppers and entrees choices include Salmon Street Style Tacos, Poke Tuna and Patatas Bravas. Sandwich choices include the ½ pound Bistro Burger and ¼ pound Southwest Black Bean Burger as well as popular faves like mini sliders and quesadillas.

Flatbread pizza is a specialty with choices like prosciutto & arugula, tandoori chicken and everyone’s favorite pepperoni. Those wanting something lighter will appreciate the four different salads on the menu as well. Psst… be sure to save room for the Rockslide Brownie Sundae, Caramel Apple Crisp or the Vanilla Bean Crème Burlee for dessert. Of course, the Cinemark Reserve still offers traditional theater candy and popcorn if that’s more your moving watching beat.

In addition to soda, the Cinemark Reserve also offers a full line of espresso beverages, available both hot and cold, and choices of wine and beer. You can also enjoy beverage and snacks before or after the show in the bar and lounge area with an exterior terrace and table seating.

Whether your chicken is baked, pan fried or slow cooked, you don’t have to sacrifice flavor to satisfy your picky eaters. In this recipe from Rachel Matthews of A Southern Fairy Tale the chicken tenders are baked with a crust of Corn Flakes and parmesan cheese, which adds a new element of texture and flavor to this kid-favorite classic.

Ingredients:
6 Tbsp low-fat mayonnaise
1 Tbsp Honey Mustard
1 lb, boneless skinless chicken tenders
1 1/2 C cornflakes, finely crushed
1/4 C grated Parmesan Cheese

Method:
1. Pre-heat Oven to 425°F

2. In a small bowl, combine low-fat mayonnaise and Honey Mustard – whisk and divide in half

3. Place one half of the Honey Mustard/Mayonnaise mixture in the fridge (covered, for dipping)

4. Crush the cornflakes (in a food processor, a plastic bag with a rolling pin, however you get them crushed/processed) and mix them with the Parmesan Cheese and place in a shallow dish.

5. Toss the chicken tenders in the Honey Mustard/Mayonnaise mixture to coat and then dip them in the cornflakes/parmesan mixture until fully coated.

6. Place on a wire rimmed/vented broiler tray over a baking sheet.

7. Bake for 10 minutes (or until chicken is fully cooked, do not overcook)

8. Serve with the other half of the sauce for dipping.

While we’re the first to admit that deviled eggs have a reputation for being a little tricky and definitely fattening, done the right way, they are neither time consuming nor unhealthy. They are in fact, quite wholesome. Plus, kids love them.

Consider the duo of deviled eggs in the photo:  once the eggs are boiled, you can knock these out in two minutes, tops. The pair of them, made with light mayo, weigh in at less than 100 calories and about 2 ½ grams of saturated fat. Give them to your kids for an afternoon snack and it will nourish and fill them up far better than anything you’ll find in any of those “100 Calorie” snack bags.

Method:
1. Start with a hard boiled, peeled egg. Cut in half lengthwise, scoop out the cooked yolk, and put into a small bowl. Add 2 teaspoons of mayonnaise, a small pinch of salt, and a couple of turns with a pepper grinder. Mash with a fork until creamy.

2. Fill the cavity of each egg half with the yolk mixture. Top with a dash of paprika or a pinch of fresh, minced chives.
